Author's Note: Attention, attention, my amazing readers. I have been nominated in The Fiction Awards 2019 in the category of Mystery/Thriller. Please, please, please continue to nominate my story The Heartthrob's Dark Obsession. Every nomination goes towards securing a spot in the actual contest as only the 15 most nominated stories in each category moves onto judging.
To nominate me just go to the second chapter for thefictionawards 2019 (Direct in the comments, or just select their 2019 story from profile). On that 2nd chapter look for the inline comment for Mystery/Thriller. There just put The Heartthrob's Dark Obsession by @bboops23. I truly put my heart and soul into this story and these characters and I hope you guys can help.
Again, every nomination helps. In other news I have also been nominated for TheGoldenCommunity Golden Award in the Thriller Category. I'll keep you up to date on when judging starts for that. If you would like to be a judge in that contest please go to their contest page. I'm not affiliated with that award, just nominated for it.
Now, on with the show! I really hope you guys enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 18:
"Nori, wake up, love. It's Christmas," whispered Theo.
Her eyes fluttered open. It was still dark out. She groaned and rolled over. "Come back later. When it's not so early," she moaned. She felt his body climb next to her.
"But it's Christmas."
Christmas with her kidnapper. How could she be so unenthusiastic?
"I'm tired. Last night you woke me up at 1 am to let me know that Santa came and ate the cookies we baked." Or rather the cookies he forced her and Amy to bake.
"You'll perk up when you get some food."
"I don't want to perk up. I want to sleep."
"But Amy has been up cooking breakfast. You wouldn't want her to have to throw everything away and start over to meet your needs." He pressed his lips to her ears and purred, "I might have to punish her for that."
Nori's eyes shot open. She was suddenly wide awake.
"Just give me a few minutes to get ready and I'll be down."
"That's my good girl."
The phrase sent chills down her spine. Good girl. Two little words held so much lustful desire. It made her feel dirty. Guilt and fear burrowed in the pit of her stomach. Theo hadn't touched her since she returned home. He was pent up and she was healing. She couldn't fend him off forever.
Nori felt Theo move off the bed and the lights flicked on. She dragged herself up and picked out her clothes, then went to the bathroom and took the world's quickest shower. She dried off and got dressed.
She would do anything to fall back into bed and hide from Theo for the rest of the day. But she didn't, she couldn't.
She opened the door and tried to put on a brave face. She took a few deep breathes and walked down the stairs. Theo was eagerly waiting at the bottom of the stairs with a Santa hat and a gorgeous handmade stocking, overflowing with gifts.
"Happy Christmas," his whispered, before planting a firm kiss on her lips. He pushed the stocking into her hands and took her by the arm. She tried to look towards the living room, but Theo blocked her view, and guided her to the kitchen table.
Amy was seat at the table, surrounded by a massive spread of food. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, french toast, and muffins. Nori didn't even eat eggs or bacon, but she knew Amy must have been working hard. Nori could see the flour all over Amy's highlighter yellow shirt. And Amy had a handmade stocking, albeit a cheap one that had felt letters glued on, next to her chair. It wasn't full of gifts like Nori's, but it was something.
