Chapter Twenty One

[Madeline's Point of View]

Everyone was ready.

All we had to do was just to set the prisoners free and we'll fight together. If we could create an army of twenty people or more, that's great. Hopefully the captives were cooperative enough to trust us and help us. Hopefully. Let's just hope for the best and be optimistic for a while.

Aaron was on the corner of the room, growing his iron nails as he sharpened it. His hand was now fully recovered for the newly-founded-out power absorbing cuffs. Jack said he was lucky we saved him before all of his powers from his steel nails got drained. Or else, he might not have the ability to grow those sharp thingies from his iron nails.

Daniel was inspecting his knife as he admired it. There was a glint of sorrow as he looked at the beautifully created knife. I decided it was wise of me to come over to him. Looks like he needed a company or so. "Hey."

He set the knife down gently and put it on his holster. "Yeah, Madeline?"

"Thanks for helping me. I mean, you've helped a lot and I don't know if we could make it out of here alive, so... yeah, thanks a lot. I appreciate your help." and I sincerely do. He has been helping me since I got into the annoying cell and before that. And I haven't been able to properly thank him.

Daniel gave a small smile. I thought he was thinking the same thing, that this might be our last, small, and uninterrupted chit-chat. "Yeah, thanks to you too. Without you, I don't think we'd be able to go this far. You know, sometimes your life-saving powers are creepy, since it always knows when to come and help us."

I gave a small laugh. It's been a while since I last laughed. Guess I didn't have the time to sit back, relax, and have a little bit of a fun time.

Jack stood up, lowering the knife from our dad. His blue eyes were filled with rage, spirit, and sorrow at the same time. He saw me looking at him and then he forced a smile. "I know that we're going to have to go through some tough missions. We might fail. We might die trying. Or we might just get caught the second after we opened the door. Remember the plan, try to follow it," he sighed, "The real point is, thank you, to all of you. Even if I die now, at least I'll die trying with my friends."

He turned around and faced the door. His head tilted back once more, as he whispered, "To Layla."

Suddenly, he activated his powers, which changed the color of his eyes. He blasted the door open, and the four of us sprinted towards the right. Jack shouted, "Left, right, straight, and then there's a stair on the right." We followed his orders, and succeeded in getting to the second floor swiftly without getting caught. Third floor. Fourth. Fifth. And last, Sixth.

I'm really glad that Jack has this super psychic power. Sometimes, it's great to know what's coming up ahead.

"There's going to be this invisible door on the right. When I say, go, Madeline will shout 'Doors of the Prison, Open!' and we'll be able to access through the prison." Jack said sternly. "Without doubt, it should be eight hundred meters away."

Aaron asked, "Why does it have to be Madeline?"

"Because, the door will only obey to those whose power is strong enough to manipulate it. And thankfully, our friend Madeline here is the super powerful Black Raven Enchantress." Daniel explained like a teacher giving some lectures. "Even I know." Jack chuckled, and I joined in.

After a couple of minutes Jack ordered, "Now." and I did as he told me to. I shouted the sentence out loud at the right wall. For a second, I looked like an idiot, shouting to a blank wall and expecting a door would appear. And it actually did appear.

A metal door appeared out of thin dusts, and it opened by itself. Quickly, we entered the dark and gloomy prison.

Hundreds of cells stretched through the corridor. The first floor cells had women on the right side, and men on the left side. The second floor cells had men on the right side, and women on the left. Out of the bars, and the dim lights, I could see people, starving and dead-like. There were bruises all over their bodies, and blood trickling over them. The damp prison made everything look like a scene from a horror or thriller movie.

"Why did you come back? Haven't you tortured us enough?" An old man shouted from behind the bars. Everyone joined as they booed the four of us.

I looked at my right and saw a woman in her mid-30s, eyeing me carefully. She squinted her eyes as she inspected my hair, my eyes, my facial expression, and my body. She slowly raised her head, and stopped eyeing me suspiciously. "Guys, they're not the Eagle Board, calm down!"

The crowd started to fade away. The boos and the nasty comments started to faint away. "Who are you people?" the women asked us as she approached the bars of her cells. "I'm Katrina. Katrina Fray." I approached her slowly, making the gap between us only two meters away.

"Those are my friends, Aaron and Daniel. He's my brother, Jack. And I'm... Madeline Carson. I'm the Black Raven Enchantress." In an instance, the calm prison, began to mute even more. Everyone bowed before her.

Katrina said, "It's an honor to meet you. No wonder you all have made it this far alive. It's a rare event to have someone brought here, alive, and untied. How did you get here?"

I laughed. "Believe me, it's a long story. You won't believe what happened along the way here." She gave a faint smile, but curiosity swept the smile away.

"What is the real purpose of you, coming here?"

Jack cleared his throat. "We're here to free all of you. And we plan to destroy the Eagle Board once and for all." everyone went silent. Dead silent. Even Katrina went silent. "We're here to help you out of these cages, and take revenge upon what has been taken from you. Your freedom, your relatives, your friends. Have you ever wondered about vengeance upon them? Have you ever wondered, if justice could be regained? Well this is the time. I know, that probably most of you wouldn't risk your life. But for those who would, join us. Help us in battling them. Remember the pain that they have given you, the hollowness and sorrows that they fed you. They took away your life and shattered it into pieces, are you all just going to give up?"

No one dared to speak. "I'll join." Katrina stepped forward. Everyone started to follow, one by one. At last, the whole prisoners joined.

Unlocking the cages were an easy task. It took me, Aaron, and Daniel one minute to open all 392 cages. After everyone was healed, and ready, we all made a formation. I summoned swords and arrows while Daniel equipped them with the weapon they chose. Jack told them the tactics as Aaron gave them a quick training. Thankfully, Jack's power gave us the information if there were any guards approaching. But strangely, none were spotted.

After fifteen minutes, we were ready for battle. Everyone was eager to take revenge upon those Eagle Board. I gave a last minute pep talk. "Today, we'll make another history. A battle that everyone will remember. How we defeated the Eagle. Today, we're going to approach them first, and we're going to crush them. Whatever you do, remember," I took a quick glance at everyone. Their faces full of hatred and rage, "You're doing this, for your loved ones that they took away."

The door slammed open and a huge colony went in. They had the same amount of people as ours. "Oh, am I interrupting your pep talk, Madeline? Oh, I hope not. You see, Madeline, your army is no match for mine. You could see the fact from their sorrow faces that your army is just a bunch of hopeless souls."

I held back my emotion. "Well, let's prove it, Daemon."

And the clash started as the most massive battle began.
