Chapter Twenty
[Madeline's Point of View]
After being frozen for a minute or so, I've lost my track of time. My fingers were numb and blue, and my breathing was heavy. Yet, I didn't remember anything. Which was odd, since I rarely forget anything. The last thing that I remember, was that something struck my face. It was cold, icy, and filled with hatred. Something so powerful conducted by hate.
When I was young, my mom used to give me some hot chocolate, or something hot and sweet whenever it's winter. Well, I didn't expect my mother to come into this dark room and serve me some hot chocolate from heaven, but that sure sounds perfect.
We need to break through these straps. But after breaking out, we couldn't just fight him off, because first: Our energies are already drained. Second, we don't have the army to defeat him and his super powerful league. Third, we don't have any strategies to fight this guy off. Sure I'm the most powerful and all, but still, fighting him won't be easy. I could already tell.
"Ah, yes... My power-sucking spell was the most favorable and noticed out of the other grotesque, and yet stupendous spells I've made. I assume you're all well-known with my powers and abilities, don't you? Oh, who wouldn't. Every single person who came to me would beg on their knees, thinking that I'll pity them and spare their powers and live. Humph, foolish people. Just look at their terrible faces when they started to cry. And don't get me started with children. Ugh, they're annoying when they start screaming in a high-pitch tone." Daemon paced back and forth slowly, yet steadily as he started to babble about his experiences and mightiness.
At first, I was thinking of some way to distract him. But, some unexpected turns happened and it seems more likely that he, was the one distracting himself. While he boasted his superiority, in the meantime I thought of a tricky way to get all of us out of here. So, I thought, why not trick him to break us out?
"Wow, you're a real tough guy aren't you? But I'm not buying your powers and stuffs," I sighed, "What a loser. You're just making up stuffs, aren't you?"
I've got the exact reaction I needed. His face started to turn bright red, and steam was puffing out of his nose and ear. Jack, Daniel, and Aaron were left stumped by my insane action. But hey, you don't know until you try. It's worth a shot. "What did you say?"
I sighed and pretended as if I was bored of him. "I mean, you're babbling things that didn't even happen. I see no people begging around you here. You said that everyone who came to you would beg on their knees, right? Well, I'm not petrified of you. Seriously, dude, no ones scared of you."
The room went silent. Just when my plan was about to fall apart, Daniel yawned. "Oh, God. I'm really bored of show offs like you. Seriously though, Madeline is just waaaaay more powerful than you. You're not on her level, dude. I'm feeling more sleepy rather than scared to death." and then Jack and Aaron started to tag along. Ugh, I wish those boys would've gotten the message a little bit quicker.
I rolled my eyes, "See, Daemon? We don't believe you. You've got no proof that you're strong enough to even make a tree sprout from the middle of the room."
He snorted, "Pah, that's easy as pie. Please, you're mocking me." He yelled something in Magic Realm Language, and a single, tiny, cute, tree grew from the cracks on the floor. "See, now do you believe that I'm strong and invincible?"
Jack shook his head. "Nah, I'm not very convinced yet. Could you show me some more cool tricks that won't make me bore myself to death?"
Daemon gritted his teeth. He was already holding his anger, which meant the plan was actually working out. All we need is just for him to get angrier until he couldn't control it. "Hmph, you don't need to ask him to do any spells again, Jack. He's just a weakling. Forget about him, just sleep."
He curled his fist into a ball, and slammed in onto the wall, which made a huge crack. "What did you say?"
I was about to say, 'nothing' and curl myself up into a ball. He was definitely getting the creeps out of me. But I need to act cool and calm in order for the plan to actually succeed. "Ugh, dramas. Can you be more annoying?"
"I. Am. Not. A. Weakling."
Yawning was what I really needed, and so I yawned. He seemed to buy it. "Okay, fine. One more chance to prove that you're 'superior'. Can you use ice?" he nods, "Well, great. If you could freeze these metals, then I'm convinced, since I couldn't do that." Wow, I hope he actually thought I couldn't do a simple task like that.
"What? You're a Black Raven Enchantress, and you can't even freeze a metal?" He pointed at the straps. This is it, we either make it or break it. "I can't believe it. Fine!" He pointed his index fingers towards all of the straps that were trapping all of us, and turned it into ice.
In a flash, Jack, Daniel, Aaron, and I forced our hands to break the ice. 'Clang!' as the straps broke into pieces, Daemon had just realized what he had been doing; helping us. His mouth was wide opened, and his eyes were filled with humility and anger. "What have I done? You tricked me!"
I laughed, "It's your fault that you were easily deceived. Bye!" I opened my palms and directed it onto the big, stone door. A burst of lava flowed through my hands quickly, making a huge hole in the center of the door. We ran towards the hole and broke our way out of the place Daemon was left startled.
We ran to the left, and then right, and then straight, and then left, and then right, and then right, and then left, and then we turned left and suddenly, we stopped. It's a dead end.
"Guys, I see a chamber just right beneath this wall! I think..." Jack bit his lips until it was bleeding, and drew several runes on the wall using the blood. It cracked open, showing a large wooden door with no padlocks or anything. When we tried to open the door, it was locked. Jack scanned the door quickly, hoping there were still time for him to solve the key. "Oh!" he yelled. He tapped the door with a serial of Morse code saying, 'open'. The door magically opened. The room was dark and empty. Everyone hesitated. Yet this was our only chance. I inhaled deeply, and ran inside the room. The other followed, and once everyone was inside, the door locked itself off and we could hear the sound of the walls fusing back together.
As we caught our breath, I examined the room. The floor was made out of wood, and the walls were made out of white stones. It was dark, with only five torches to light the massive room. The room only had two tables, with four seats per table. It was definitely an empty room. I could smell chickens and nuggets, which meant I was probably either hallucinating, or homesick.
'"Okay, that was brilliant. I've got to admit it, did you see the face on Daemon when we broke our straps? It was ridiculous!" Aaron chuckled. "So, I see that you've got a plan already, running in your mind. Can you share it to us?"
I nod. "I do have one, but we need to rest. Just, be quiet. We don't want to attract any visitors. Oh, and how about we take rolls to guard? How about Aaron and Daniel sleep first, while Jack and I take the first watch?"
Daniel shook his head. "No, I disagree. You and Jack have been through way lot worse. You guys should probably rest first." Aaron agreed with Daniel. And so Jack and I started to find our sleeping position.
I was about to drift off, when Daniel broke the silence. "Oh yeah, Madeline. How's your hand? Wasn't it burnt pretty badly?" I took a deep breath and looked at my hands, hoping to find that one of my hands had these gruesome scars, while the other one was torn, revealing some flesh. But instead, my hands were back to normal, almost better than before. I touched the place where my flesh should've been, but I felt nothing odd. "Well, that's weird. I don't remember healing myself. Oh well, I'm just going to thank God and go to sleep."
And so I dozed off.

I'm so sad. I'm thinking about making a happy ending, but then sad endings seemed a lot more appealing. I'm confused on which ending I'm going to make. I hope it won't disappoint you guys, because I know the ending is going to be a real surprise! Yeay!
So, I'm going to study since there's going to be a test on Thursday, bye!
