Part 5

Keith's POV

"Did something good happen at school?" my mom asks as I walk into the kitchen. I sit down at the counter and rest my head in my hands and a goofy grin on my face. "I take that as a yes," she said sitting across from me.

I sat there for a moment before I realized she wanted details about what happened "well... I made a new friend," I started.

"You made a friend? Don't get me wrong I'm really happy you made a new friend and all but, you, the person your teachers say never talks in class, made a friend."

"KEITH MADE A FRIEND?!?!?" I hear my big brother, Shiro, yell down the stairs from his room.

"YA I DID SO DON'T SOUND SO SURPRISED!" I yelled back, not a second passes before I hear footsteps coming down the stairs.

Once Shiro got to the bottom of the stairs he practically killed me in a hug. He puts me back on the ground and both my mom and Shiro tell me to tell them who it was.

"Well, I made 2 friends their names are Pidge and Lance." My face dusts with a bit of red just at the thought of Lance.

"Oh isn't Lance that popular guy you told me about a while back," Shiro asks. My mom gets a bit curious because this is the first time she's heard of Lance. "The guy you have a crush on?"

My mom's face lit up when she heard I had a crush on Lance. My face gets redder, "ya that's him," my voice gets quieter when I say this.

"How did you become friends?" Shiro asks sitting beside me.

"Well, I was reading and he came up to me to see what I was reading. We had a free period so he sat beside me and we talked the whole time. Well that's a lie, he talked and I could barely stammer out a sentence," I started to blush a bit more.

"And what about the other one, Pidge," my mom asked.

"She's friends with Lance and I guess she wanted to know why he would be friends with me so during computers class she sat beside me and we talked a bit."

My mom smiles at the thought of me making more friends. "So are you glad I didn't let you stay home this year."

"I guess, and I did get a valentine this year," I smiled thinking of the chocolate Lance had given me that morning.

"That's great Keith," mom said, "now what do you want for dinner?"

"Food," I said jokingly then shrugged. My mom sighed and Shiro and I head upstairs.

When we got upstairs and out of Mom's earshot I whisper to Shiro "I found a phone number in my locker." I can tell Shiro is smiling behind me.

"Who's number, do you know," he asked when we got to my room.

"No idea it didn't have a name on it." I took it out of my pocket and handed it to Shiro as I sat on my bead.

"Let's call it," he says with a grin.

Before I could decide he had already taken his phone out and started to dial the number in. knowing I wouldn't be able to get the phone from him I sat in anticipation wondering who would pick up.

"Hello?" I hear a voice say through the phone.
