NOTE: This is a totally new part. It was not there when I posted in IndiaForum. I always wanted a rendezvous at Hoshiyarpur. what better than Maan Goes to persuade Geet. But does he really know how to persuade?

Tum rutho mein manau

The next morning Maan tried to be a little early so as to meet Geet on the breakfast table. He didnt see her after the dinner. She had been busy with the guest and he didnt realise when she slipped into her room. He didnt dare to knock on her door after the evenings incidence.

He was loosing patience finding her missing so Nakul got the bashing. Nakul why have you scattered the suitcases in my closet? It is so messy.

Sorry sir. Madam wanted a bigger suitcase so the servants went to your closet in hurry. I will get it settled right now. He turned to move but was interrupted.

Where is Daadi ma going?

Sir Geet madam wanted it. She left for Hoshiyarpur.

Maan's hand froze between the plate and mouth. The piece of fruit was left in the fork as he hurriedly got up.

Where is daadi? Did she see off Geet? He asked anxiously.

Yes sir. Daadi ma was there.

Then why is everyone so quiet. He mumbled to himself as he left for Daadi. He composed himself before entering the room. He didnt know what has Geet told daadi before leaving.

Daadi looked over the book she was reading as Maan entered hurriedly and just stood there.

Do you want to say something? Daadi raised her eyebrows as he was standing there still framing his question.

Nothing much. He shrugged.

Are you going to office? It seems empty without Geet. I dnt know what to do.

Yeah. He answered dumbfound.

Daadi smiled at him. I should have gone with her.

Why would you go with her? Maan knotted his brows.

For her cousin's engagement. I know you will never go. That was out of question. She would have come back tomorrow if I had gone.

Maan took a sigh of relief. He turned to leave for office. No problem daadi she will come back soon.

Daadi bit her lip and said. But she told me she wants to stay there for some time. May be a month or so. Did she tell you why she wants to stay for so long? Earlier she was coming back tomorrow. She had classes. In the morning when I cancelled my program due to tiredness she told me she will stay there for sometime.

Maan rubbed his forehead. Why didnt you tell her to come back tomorrow?

She was already sad. Her sister had asked for her lehenga she wore yesterday. I dnt know how Geet tore that lehenga. She was over stressed as how she will explain it to her aunt.

Maan was perplexed now. He was the cause of all problems. She didnt want to come back because of him. She didnt forgive him was hurting him now. Daadi you shouldnt have let her go.

Daadi was surprised at his behaviour and decided to play bluff with him. How can I tell her that? She has gone to her mother's place first time after marriage. Traditionally her brother was coming to take her but I asked them that I will send Geet on my own. I wanted Geet to celebrate Karvachauth here. You wouldnt go there for karvachauth. Now someone will have to go there to bring her home. Traditionally the husband should go. I dnt know if they will send her without you. It is a small town; people will tell all sorts of thing to poor girl. Your absence will be speculated by each one. Poor Geet will bear it all.
