Yes Sir. Adi nodded hurriedly.

I have cancelled my morning meeting. Handle it. I will be here for the presentation by 11. Maan said as he got up to leave.

Ok Sir. It has been a long day for you. Rest early Sir. Adi said softly as for the first time he saw lines of disappointment on his face. Otherwise Maan was a very balanced person. He rarely showed his emotions so openly.

Maan nodded as Adi followed him to the lift.

Pinky hurried to him as soon as the lift closed.

Adi Sir did he say something about Geet? Pinky asked in a hush tone.

No. Adi answered blankly as he looked around for other staff who may be prying. Dnt talk here. Finish your work and go home.

When he entered he felt a different silence in the house. Nakul hurried out of the kitchen to greet him.

Saab What should we cook for Madam? I had sent lila but Madam sent her back. She said she wont have dinner, she wants to sleep.

I will check on her. Maan said and moved towards the stairs.

Sir if she has fever should we make some khichri for her? Nakul asked hesitantly.

Maan realized his anxiety. If Geet was sick Nakul will definitely inform Daadi. He turned and said. She fell down. It is nothing much. She needs little rest. I havent informed Daadi, she will get upset. He looked at Nakul who understood that he shouldn't inform Daadi otherwise he will have it from Maan.

Maan slowly opened the door to her room and found her blankly staring at the ceiling.

Nakul told me you are sleeping, so I didn't knock. I didn't intend to wake you. Maan said apologetically as on seeing him she quickly straightened herself. She hadnt changed yet and was still in her shirt and trouser from morning.

Geet gave him a nervous smile but didn't say anything.

Dinner? What will you like for dinner? Maan tried to strike a conversation.

Geet just nodded for a no.

It was becoming difficult for him to talk as Geet was the one who would talk between them. and monosyllables were his part of the communication.

I will ask Nakul to make hot and sour soup for you. Its chilly today, warm soup will be good for you.

Geet said nothing but he called on the intercom and instructed Nakul.

He left with a nervous grin. He didn't want to discuss the incidence with her but her going into her shell was affecting him.
