Michael's POV
My hands trembled as I picked it up. Tears started to form in my eyes and panic took over my body. It was a used needle. I didn't even know what to think. I fell to my knees and just sobbed. What could've caused my little girl to turn to drugs? Did I do something wrong? Why didn't she come to me when she was hurting? I didn't even know how to handle this situation.
I searched the rest of her room and found all sorts of unthinkable things. Bags of weed, cocaine, lighters, cigarettes, bongs, and more needles with fluid. Questions raced through my head as pain took a stab at my heart. I mean, I have other young children living in this house. Mia loves to spend time in Paris's room, sometimes even spend the night here. What if she had gotten her hands on this? What if Blanket did? He's so impressionable at this age. God!
I collected all the items I found and walked into my office. I placed all the items in a drawer in my desk, and locked it. I looked at the time and realized Blanket and Mia will be down soon for lunch. Since the house staff were all given a day off, it was crucial for me to start preparing food for them. But I couldn't focus on anything. I damn near burned the house down while trying to make grilled cheese. Defeated and tired, I just sent one of my men to go get us some KFC.
And right on cue Blanket and Mia came rushing down the stairs, hyper and hungry. They both devoured their food. "How was your first day sweetheart?" I asked Mia.
"It was good! I learned about the planets today and density," she answered excitedly with her mouth full. I giggled at her innocence. I wish they could all just stay at this age.
"Wow, I can't wait to hear all about it later. Maybe you can teach me some new facts about the planets," I suggested encouragingly. Mia smiled and continued eating. "How about you Blanket? Did you learn anything new?"
"I had a lesson on the polarity of water," he said. He began telling me all about it as I zoned in and out, thinking about Paris. Meanwhile, Mia kept interrupting the conversation about something that had nothing to do with what Blanket was talking about. After the 4th time, I grew utterly frustrated. I put my fork down and glared at her.
"Mia, I'm talking to Blanket," I said sternly. "Do not interrupt when someone else is speaking. I've told you this many times before. You never listen! You need to give others a chance to speak too. I can't pay attention to you only at all times!" I admonished. Her face dropped and she stared at her food. God, I was losing it. That was harsher than necessary. I'm so stressed out about Paris, that I'm taking it out on the little one. I took a deep breath. "How about this? If you finish your homework early today, I'll take you on the rides. You too Blanket," I said trying to cheer her up.
Mia's eyes lit up with excitement. This would officially be her first time going on the rides since getting to Neverland. I figured it's about time that I take her off punishment. She's been on pretty good behavior recently, and she deserves a reward. "Really???" she asked excitedly.
I laughed at Mia's enthusiasm. "Yes babygirl. But all your homework needs to completed," I reminded her. Blanket and Mia quickly finished their food and rushed upstairs to do their homework. Well this was a first. Maybe going on the rides and exploring Neverland with these two will take my mind off of what's to come later. I cleaned up the table and decided to go to the dance room. A little dancing will get my mind cleared for sure.
