"A walker got him! A walker bit Jim!"

When you heard those few words, the world stopped for a second. A walker bit.. Jim?

You turned around, seeing Jim back away from Jackie, more scared than the woman. He looked at all of you, repeating one word.. No

Daryl took his shovel as he walked to Jim, anger boiling his blood. You didn't know why Daryl is acting this way, he should be sad, not angry.

Everyone else stood up, taking their weapons with them as they went closer to Jim, like he was gonna turn any second. Rick took out his handgun, the safety still on, as he put his left hand on Jackie's shoulder, assuring her he'd take care of it.

"Show it to us!" Daryl demanded, looking at Jim straight in his eyes. When Jim saw that all the men had weapons, he turned around and picked up a sickle. Shane started shouting at him to put it down, while Daryl kept demanding Jim to show them the walker bite. You however, were beyond sad. First Amy, now Jim?

"I'm okay! I'm okay! I'm okay!" Jim kept repeating in a quiet voice, he didn't seem like he was gonna use the sickle on anyone. T-dog was already behind him when Jackie told everyone, so he went and held Jim's arms behind his back, making him drop the sickle to the dirt, now defenseless.

Daryl went closer to Jim, held his shirt and lifted it up, revealing a bite mark on the top of his stomach. Your eyes closed, feeling rather sad for the poor man.

Everyone backed away from Jim, like he was gonna turn any second. It all dawned on them now, they had two choices, kill Jim and end his misery before he even turns, or let him die.

"I think we need to talk" you spoke up as you walked away from the scene that was happening until you reached the logs, sitting down on one of them. They all slowly started gathering around you. First, Rick then Glenn and T-dog, afterwards Dale alongside Lori, Daryl and Jackie, then finally Carol and Morales.

You all stayed in silent for a while, before Daryl spoke "I say we axe him in the head" "is that what you want?" Shane asked Daryl, tired of his attitude all the time about how 'we all left Merle for the dead' in Atlanta

"I never thought I'm gonna say this, but Daryl's right" Dale joined in, agreeing with Daryl. "Jim is not some disease. He holds one, yes, but he's not" Rick spoke up, going completely against Daryl's idea

"We can't kill him" you said, looking to the ground, your elbows on your thighs as your hands dangled between your thighs. "And we won't kill him. Killing people all the time isn't the solution Daryl, we aren't gonna do it. But if he wants to, then he gotta chooses which one of us is going to kill him, and it's definitely not gonna be you" you say standing up, crossing your arms on your chest as you made eye contact with everyone, lastly Daryl.

"What if we ask him, then he says he doesn't want anyone of us to kill him. What are we gonna do then?" Jackie asks, looking at you concerned

"Then we stay with him. If you don't want to, then you can stay in the rv. I care about everyone in this camp, Jim included. If he doesn't want us to have blood in our hands and kill him, then I'm gonna stay with him. Then, I'm gonna kill him." You answer, sadness evident in your eyes and voice.

"He wants to be with his family, he doesn't fear death. He lost his wife and three kids, you think he'll want to stay here? I bet if you go ask him, he'll say exactly what I've said. He won't cry that he'll die, it is heaven for him." You say plainly, knowing the story of his loss.
