You kept looking through the rearview mirror, checking if any walkers were behind you. The fire kept going, until you heard the house collapse to the ground, drawling more walkers from everywhere to the farm.
You didn't know how you lost everyone, but once you looked back from the rearview mirror, you saw no cars ahead of you, only your car light and the darkness of the night.
"Shit! Did you see where they went?" You asked Daryl who had his eyes closed "Nah, was restin' my eyes" he said as he closed his eyes again.
You kept the car going, trying to find any shelter for the night until you could find the rest of the group. You heard T-dog bang on the window that was behind yours and Daryl's head, signaling you to stop.
You stopped the car, opening the drivers door and walking out to T-dog who came down from the trunk "where's everybody?" He asked as he looked around for any walkers
"Lost them. We need to find shelter for the night, we'll find them in the morning" you said as you sighed and looked to the ground
"And you think there's any shelter near by? We came through here, nothin' but Hershel's farm for miles" he said as he sighed
"Then we'll sleep here. Go inside, I'll take watch" you say as you take out your axe you somehow managed to grab from Shane when he broke the locks of the barn
"You sure?" You nodded your head "Yeah, I overslept." He nodded his head before going inside the drivers seat, closing the door after.
You hopped on the trunk, searching for your bag. When you found it, you took out your flashlight and shone it through the woods, listening and watching carefully.
A few hours passed, and the night got colder. You took one of the blankets, wrapping it tightly around yourself as you still kept watch. You didn't have a gun, but you had three knives and an axe.
You heard one of the truck doors open, revealing Daryl who cautiously stepped out of the car, walking towards you. You stood in front of the trunk, watching the road and the woods "ain't sleepin'?" He asked as he shone his flashlight around
"Overslept" you reply. You must've slept a lot since you weren't tired, not even the tiniest bit. "Go back to sleep, I'm keeping watch" you say softly as you check on the road behind you.
"Nah, I can't sleep. Car's too damn tight" he mumbled. You chuckled, making him look at you and smile the smallest smile you've ever seen. "Do you think we'll find them?" You asked as you sighed
"Yea, we will" he said before resting his back on the trunk, holding his wound on his stomach. "Let me see" you say before putting the flashlight in the trunk of the car, lifting his shirt up.
You opened the white bandage and the cloth, revealing his wound. "How do you heal so quickly?" You asked as you saw how unbelievably fast he healed.
He shrugged, making you shake your head and put the bandage and cloth back. "Seems pretty good, you might ride your bike tomorrow" he nodded his head before sighing
You realized how his shirt had no sleeves, so you extended your arm until you found a blanket, handing it to him. He took the blanket, wrapped it around himself before looking out into the trees.
"It's gonna be a long night" you say as you take your flashlight and look ahead of you. "Damn righ' it will" he mumbled.

The sun finally rose up in the sky, giving you all three the opportunity to see clearly ahead of you. You and Daryl haven't encountered any walkers through the night which was something relieving.
"Hey, get up" you say as you shake T-dog awake. He groaned before stepping out of the car's seat "This in too damn uncomfortable, how the hell do you sleep here?" He said annoyedly before walking back to the trunk and hopping in.
You sat inside the car, starting the engine. "They might be at the highway" you say as you make your way there "might be" Daryl said from beside you.
After just a couple of minutes, you reached the highway. And sure enough, they were all there. You smiled as you opened the car door stepping out to meet everybody.
Daryl and T-dog did the same. You smiled as you hugged everyone, but realized that not all were there "wait, where's Dale?" You asked as you looked at Rick "a walker got him"
You nodded. You didn't know him very well, but you were sad "Shane?" You asked as Rick shook his head. You tried preventing the smile on your face, succeeding when you realized Andrea wasn't there "what about Andrea? Is she here?" You asked as concern filled your face.
"She.. she went down" T-dog said from behind you "I'm sorry, what?" You ask as you look at him "you've been with us the whole time and now you decided to speak up?"
You weren't mad, you were calm. "I knew if I told you, you'd go back" he said as he looked down "Damn right I will!" You raised your voice before making your way back towards the truck "wait!" Rick shouted as he ran to you, holding your hand from opening the door
"Lucy, I saw a walker fall on her, she's gone" he said quietly as he examined your eyes as if he's looking at any sign of rage or any emotion that would draw the walkers. But there were none.
Your eyes watered as your nose sniffled "she's.. gone?" You whisper as you look at Rick, hoping and praying to god he'd have a different answer. He nodded his head slowly, sorrow in his eyes.
You blinked your eyes, tears going down your face "but I promised.." you say as you look at your feet. How could you let her down?
"Rick, I promised her we'll get through this together, how am I supposed to live with that?" You whispered as tears kept rolling down your face.
"It's gonna be alright, okay? Everything's gonna be fine" he said as his eyes held yours. You nodded your head before wiping the tears away. This isn't the time for grief, this is a time for survival and finding a safe shelter. One game at a time
"Yeah, everything's gonna be fine" you say as you smile broken heartedly at him. He nodded his head before turning around at everyone. You lost four people, Dale, Andrea, Patricia and Jimmy. You didn't know Patricia nor Jimmy at all, so you didn't really feel sad about their death, you just felt sad for Hershel and his two girls.
"Where are we gonna go now?" Carol asked as she looked at everyone "I say go east" T-dog said as he looked at everyone.
"Stay off the main roads. The bigger the roads, the more assholes like this one. I got em" Daryl said as he held his crossbow, shooting a walker in the head.
"But we can't take all these cars" you said as you looked around. There was the truck, Daryl's motorcycle, Lori and Rick's car, Hershel and Beth's, Glenn and Maggie's car.
"Yeah, you're right. We've got too many" Lori said as she looked around. "Alright, how about Beth, Hershel, Maggie, Glenn and Carol in that car," You pointed at Glenn's and Maggie's, "Rick, Lori, Carl and T-dog in that one," you pointed at Rick's and Lori's car "Me and Daryl on his bike?" You asked as you looked at them hopefully. They all nodded their heads, before climbing inside the two cars.
You took the blankets from the truck, separating it in two as you shoved them into Rick's car, the other half in Glenn's.
They all started their engines, moving ahead of you and Daryl at a slow pace to a side road. "Ye really think I'll let ye on my bike?" Daryl asked as he rode his motorcycle
"You don't really have a choice now, do you?" You asked as you looked around. He smiled as he waited for you to ride. "Ye comin' or nah?"
You walked over to him, riding on his bike, wrapping your arms around his torso as he drove away, starting a journey of finding a shelter.
