You opened your tired, red puffy eyes. You cried a lot over Jim, knowing he won't be with you anymore. You were angry. Over what? You didn't know. You didn't know if you were angry over yourself, or the walkers themselves. Even though you were mad over walkers, they won't understand and they will keep doing what they do. Bite, eat, go on. And that lifestyle is getting to your head
"Hey, you up?" You heard Daryl ask from his seat. You turned your head, smiling softly at him "Yeah I'm up" you reply, before sitting up straight and looking out the window.
The truck was parked behind the RV, close to a building you haven't seen in a long, long time. The CDC.
There were dead walkers on the ground, flies all over the rotten flesh. There were bags surrounding the building from afar, making it like a small maze for the walkers to not near the door before people do. If there are anymore alive
"CDC? We're already here?" You asked feeling confused. "Yea" Daryl responded before readying his crossbow and opening up the car door and walking out. You groaned, feeling the headache increase by the minute.
You took the knife out of your sleeve and unbuckled the car seat before heading out the door, closing it harshly behind.
You walked on the concrete floor, seeing almost everyone ahead of you. Rick has his shotgun ready, holding it in front of him. He looked at the building that stood proudly ahead of all of you, not believing you actually made it. The sun had set already, leaving only a couple more minutes to get inside before dark.
The smell was unbearable, the smell of rotten flesh as it lays on the ground. You groaned yet again, but this time it's because you couldn't seem to breathe clear Oxygen. You covered your mouth and your nose with your sleeve, not seeming to help you out.
Everyone was coughing from how bad the smell was, before they started walking towards the CDC that stood ahead of all of you.
"Home sweet home" You said to yourself, knowing it will be where you all stayed in for the next couple of days at least. You started walking behind the rest of the group, looking from left to right, seeing a lot of bodies laying still on the floor.
The more you got closer, the more bodies you found on the floor. "Come on, stay together! Stay close!" You heard everyone say to the others making loud noises "would ya'll shut up?" You asked as you walked ahead of them, walking next to Rick
You heard Sophia cough harshly behind you, not standing the smell. You turned around looking at Carol who was rubbing Sophia's back assuring her you will all get in. You looked down at your shirt, before kneeling down and putting the knife on the floor, holding the bottom of your shirt tightly and pulling it harshly.
A long piece of your shirt got cut off, folding it in half before handing it to Sophia. She looked at you, not sure if she should accept the offer or not "take it" you say, before she took it from your hand slowly and put it on her mouth, making her coughing a lot less harshly.
You took the knife and stood up, looking at Carol who smiled at you "thank you" you smiled back "no problem" before walking fast
You reached the front of the building, seeing the shutters closed. Shane started pounding on the door. "There's nobody here" T-dog said, as he started looking left and right "then why are these shutters closed?!" You asked, stepping away from them. "Walkers!" Daryl alerted before he sent an arrow flying to the dead center of the walkers head, it's body falling to the ground.
Walker after walker kept coming, making Carol and Sophia panic as they started crying. Lori got nervous, looking left to right holding Carl close "its the wrong call, you hear me?! It's all on you!" Shane shouted at Rick as he pushed him back further "we can't be here!" Carol said, panicking even more
