A mini us

Joe

Me and di went straight to the primary school after school had finished. Dianne had got a text message from Noah's mum asking her to pick him up again, we obviously said yes. We knew how excited amber would be so we wanted to pick them up as soon as possible.
When we arrived outside there classroom we were greeted by a young girl standing at the door.
T"Hi, you are you here to collect"
D"Austin, amber and Noah"
T"Ok, they have all been good today and Mrs Campbell has asked me to inform you that amber got Noah to sit with her, which is the first time he has not sat on his own"
D"That's great news thank you"
T"I'm Tilly, the receptionist. Mrs Campbell had to leave early so I stepped in for the last hour of the day"
D"Nice to meet you, I'm Dianne the twins foster sister and this is my boyfriend Joe"
T"I've heard a lot about you two, and can I say the amount you have done for the twins is incredible"
J"Thank you"
T"No thank you, you've given those kids something to wake up in the morning and be happy about. That's amazing you should be proud of yourselves, anyway you probably want the children now so I'll just get them for you"
D"Yes please"

Dianne

T"Austin, amber and Noah. Joe and Dianne are here for you"
After a few seconds the three of them came running out the twins ran up to us and gave us a hug. Amber stayed in joes arms for a while as he just held her and explained to Tilly and Noah what was happening.
J"Ok so Noah mummy messaged Dianne and asked if we could look after you again today so we have agreed"
D"I hope you don't mind Noah but I've messaged your mum and I have offered to take you to school and collect you everyday"
Noah smiled up at us, he ran over to us and hugged Dianne.
N"Thank you so much"
Tilly looked over at us and smiled,
T"bye you guys"
Noah went back over to Tilly and gave her a hug,
N"Bye Tilly, see you tomorrow"
Joe put amber down and she instantly went over to Noah and held his hand. He smiled at her and I noticed her cheeks going red. Noah instantly let go and ran over to the water fountain that was in the playground, he brought her over a cup of water.
N"Here you go, again. You sure your not hot your cheeks keep going red"
Am"I'm sure Noah but thank you, I don't know why my cheeks are red. I guess I'm just happy that's all"
Au"Dianne doesn't your cheeks go red all the time. Usually when your with Joe"
D"Yeah they do"
Amber looked down at her feet, Noah squeezed her hand and smiled at her. Amber drank her water and then Noah put the plastic cup into the bin for her.
We went to the park for our usual routine before we went back to my house. When we got home Austin went outside and started kicking the ball around and scoring it into the goal we hand in the garden for him. Amber and Noah went straight upstairs to her room as they were going to play with her toys.
Joe and me also went upstairs but into my room, me and Joe cuddled up on my bed sharing the occasional kiss. We put on Netflix and watched the next Harry Potter film. We was up to Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows which is the 7th film.
Halfway through the film I hear amber giggling, followed shortly by Noah then giggling. I paused the film and turned to face Joe.
D"Joe it's not just me, you understand what's going on right"
J"Yeah I do. In a weird way they remind me of like a mini us"
D"That's what I was thinking. It's weird because neither of them understand what the way they are feeling is"
J"Yeah, it's really weird. I mean they are only year 5"
D"I've only just started to understand what different feelings mean"
J"How can someone so young fall in love, that's crazy. I'm 16 and I've only just managed to fall in love"
I felt a massive blush appear on my face,
J"Should I get you some water, are you hot"
I tapped Joe on the arm lightly
D"Oh shut up Joseph"
J"Never reddo"
I pressed play on the film and snuggled into joes chest again. Every so often we heard giggles coming from amber and Noah. I really hope that they stay bestfriends until there older, they are too young for a relationship right now but when they are older I know for a fact that they will probably be together.

After the film

I walked down the stairs hand in hand with Joe as we heard the front door open and close. We walked into the kitchen to see my dad putting away some shopping.
D"Hi dad"
M"Hi dot, hi Joe"
J"Hi mark"
M"Where are the twins"
D"Austin is outside playing football, and amber is upstairs with a friend"
M"Are they staying for dinner"
D"Probably, we have no idea when his mum is going to pick him up"
M"Oh it's a he?"
D"Yeah, his name is Noah. There literally like bestfriends they are adorable together"
M"Well I'm about to start dinner, we are having pasta ok"
D"Sounds delicious dad"
Me and Joe then walked into the living room and towards the back door.
J"I'm going to go and join Austin for a bit"
D"I'm going to check on amber and Noah and then I will be out ok"
J"Ok di, oh and Dianne"
D"Yeah"
J"I love you"
D"I love you too"
I pecked joes lips before running up the stairs and into Amber's room. I peered round the corner of her bedroom door, to see the cutest site ever. Amber and Noah were laying on Amber's bed next to each other watching the TV. Both of them had fallen asleep, amber had her head rested on Noah's shoulder and his head was on top of hers. I grabbed a blanket that was at the end of Amber's bed and layed it over the two of them. I then turned of the light, turn on the baby monitor and walked out of the room closing the door behind me. I went into my room quickly and got the speaker that is connected to the baby monitor, just incase amber has a nightmare. I walked downstairs and went outside to Joe and Austin, I sat down on one of the outdoor chairs and watched the two playing.
As soon as Joe noticed me he came over to me, Austin ran in front of Joe getting to me before him and jumped onto my lap cuddling into my chest.
D"You two having fun"
Au"Yeah, loads of fun"
D"I'm glad"
J"How's the other two"
D"They've fallen asleep, they was watching a film and are now fast asleep"
J"Awww that's adorable"
Au"I'm really happy that Noah spoke to amber when she was upset, it's really helped her a lot"

20 minutes later

I heard crying coming from the speaker meaning that amber had woken up from a nightmare, before I even stood up joe had ran up the stairs to amber.

Joe

I walked into her room and turned on the light, to see Noah cuddling amber trying to comfort her.
N"Joe, what's happening"
J"It's ok Noah, she's just had a nightmare"
I walked over to amber and picked her up. She wrapped her arms and legs around me and held on really tight. I walked into Diannes room with Noah following behind me. I layed back on the bed,
J"Shhhhh, it's ok I got you"
Amber slowly calmed down, she looked up and me with her eyes filled with tears.
J"You ok now"
She nodded at me.
A"Thank you"
J"Was it the same dream"
A"Yeah, when are they going to stop Joe"
I didn't know how to answer her,
J"I don't know amber, I wish I could tell you"
A"Joe, can you explain to me now what a therapist is"
J"Of course"
I sat her opposite me on the bed, amber turned to Noah and invited him to sit with her. As soon as he was next to her they held hands.
