I walked into this really big building with Joe, I was squeezing his hand so tight as I was scared. I didn't know who this man was but Joe told me he was nice and I trust him. Joe told me to sit down in one of the chairs and he walked out the the front desk. He spoke to the woman there and she smiled at him, she got up and walked over to a door that was behind her desk. She knocked on the door and went inside, a few moments later she came out and said to Joe.
J"Take a seat, he won't be a minute"
Joe came over to me and sat down in the chair next to me, I started to shake again. I don't know why this keeps happening to me but I can't stop it. Joe pulled me onto his lap and rocked me back and fourth cuddling me. I called down just as a tall, brown haired man came out of his office.
Mb"Joe"
J"Mr burns"
Joe stood up and carried me into the room the man was in. He sat me down on one of the chairs.
J"Wait here amb ok, I won't be a minute"
He walked towards the door, he spoke to the man who he called Mr burns outside of the room before they both walked in and took a seat. Joe next to me and Mr burns behind a desk that was in front of me.
J"Amber this is Mr burns, remember he's a friend and he is here to help you"
Mb"Hello amber"
Am"Hi"
Mb"Ok amber I'm going to ask you some questions, I want to remind you that this is a safe environment and nobody is going to judge you. We are both here to help you and make sure your ok"
I looked up at Joe and he smiled at me
Am"Ok"
Mb"Ok are your nightmares always the same or different"
Am"There usually the same"
Mb"What happens in them"
I looked down at the floor, I started to feel water in my eyes.
Am"I... She... They... "
Mb"Take your time"
Joe reached into his bag and pulled out my eric teddy, he handed it to me and I hugged it tightly.
Am"It usually starts with me 'waking up' by being screamed at. Then I sit curled up in my bed listening to them shout at me and call me names"
Mb"Who are they"
Am"The woman I used to live with and her daughter"
Mb"Did this ever happen when you lived with them"
Am"Yes, every night"
Mb"What did they say"
Am"They would say that I'm worthless, that no one likes me and no one will ever love me. They said my dad died so he could get away from me and my brother left because he hated me"
I started to cry, Joe whispered something to mr burns and he nodded. Joe picked me up and put me on his lap.
J"I got you it's ok, there gone now"
I calmed down and tilted my head up to look at Joe.
Am"I'm ready to continue "
J"Are you sure"
Am"Yeah"
Mb"ok, other than the nightmares has anything else been going on with you that your maybe confused about or don't understand"
Am"I keep breathing heavily and becoming scared at random times and I can't stop myself"
Mb"Joe could I speak to you outside for a minute"
J"Sure" Joe placed me onto the chair and followed Mr burns out of the room. They were gone for a while, I ended up falling asleep. I heard Joe come back into the room as I was only in a very light sleep. He picked me up and carried me out of the room and out of the building. He walked all the way back home carrying me. I stayed in my light sleep and when we got home I felt Joe tuck me into bed and kiss my forehead. I heard in walk out of the room and close the door.
