Only Way Out

Chapter 2 number 13

We met on a Saturday night. My mom and I just moved into these new apartments and well me being a hyperactive curious 13 year old, I had to adventure. But at what cost? What if I met someone who hated me? Someone who could pound me into the ground? Well I guess it was a risk I was willing to take. We ended up getting the basement floor, cheapest one we could afford. The only way to get there was with a card though. Not many people had it so I guess it was neat. Kinda like a penthouse but backwards. Nobody would go up to the penthouse actually...well except for me of course! I might have been an idiot but I was a curious idiot. As soon as we got sone unpacking out things I went strait for the 5th floor. It was dusty, dark, and a bit scary. But I wasn't no pussy!! Maybe... something weird happened though. Before I entered any rooms I found this weird game for my old gear boy. The game was called "Outside of the Fix". Kinda weird but hey free game right? Well anyway the first room I went to was 501 I think...the room number plate was off so I couldn't really tell. There wasn't much in the whole room until I hit the kitchen. My gear boy went berserk. It flashes lights and kept telling me to press X. So I did. Scariest choice I've ever made. As I hit X and sparks fell around the room then a little girl popped out of nowhere!!! I nearly pissed myself!
"Oh hello!" ??? Said.
Not knowing what to say I just wave. The child like figure giggles.
"You're funny mister! My name's soda! Soda as in the drink! what's yours?"
"L...Larry..." I say shyly
"Hi L Larry!! Wait are you dead to?? That's so cool!!!"
"I I'm not dead!! I don't think..."
"Then how are you not scared of me?"
"I am..."
"But you're not running away like the others do"
"I can't..."
"Why not?"
"To intrigued...."
Soda just giggles again. Then We both hear a loud groaning sound.
"Oh I gotta go! You better leave to! Good luck l larry!" Soda says then disappears.
Well that was weird. I head out of that room as quick as I can then go downstairs. That was enough adventure for me today. Or was it? It was 8:30 pm. After taking a huge nap to rest my mind from soda, I went exploring again. This time I went to a different floor. Floor 4. It was all calm and normal until I reached room 402. My geer boy did the exact same thing it did last time except when I pressed X nothing happened. Until a tall boy with blue hair came out of the room. I scream and fall to the floor.
"Woah hey are you ok?" The guy ask lending me a hand.
I grab his hand and stand up "uh yeah I think so. Sorry you just really scared me"
"Yeah I kinda get that a lot. Names sally what's yours?"
"Larry...Larry face" dammit acting shy again.
"Larry face? Heh I like that. Hey You wanna come in and chat?"
"I'm not sure my mom will let me...also people call me Larry face because of my face"
"You mean that sweat mask of yours?" Sally says
"No...also uh.....it's a prosthetic" I say
" oh well it's pretty cool anyway go ask your mom dude! Come on I gotta some stuff to show you"
"Uh...like what?"
"Ever heard of the band Lucidity Falls?"
My eyes lit up "YES!! Oh my god I love that band!!"
"Oh hell yeah now you have to stay over. Go ask your mom I'll be up here."
"Well uh ok see you soon sally!" I happily leave and go back down to the basement. I mean I guess it's weird to go over to someone's house as soon as you meet them but eh. He looks like he's near my age. Plus he likes Lucidity Falls! He's gotta be a good guy! Right?...eh!
"Mom!! Mom I met a friend can I stay at their place tonight??" I say to my mother.
"Yeah sure whatever Larry just be careful ok?" My mom said as she works. She's been working 24/7 almost ever since dad...doesn't matter. After I get an ok I pack my bags and go back upstairs bringing a few extra things for Sal to see.
