Echoing footsteps sway in and out
Of the focus in my brain,
My eyelids are a million tonnes
Of weight none can lift,
My eyes are ablaze from the smoke,
It fills my nose,
Voices from afar drift near
To the spot where I lie unmoving,
But breathing,
Slowly,
Dimly I can hear the commotion,
That any accident summons,
Paramedics shouting,
Sirens wailing,
People screaming,
But no one seems to see me,
I can't reach out to help,
I'm paralysed and immobile,
My cries unheard,
Can't you hear me?
I'm screaming at the top of my lungs,
Which don't escape my mouth,
I'm alive! I'm here!
Will you come rescue me?
I'm waiting,
Later the police will arrive,
They'll have their notebooks and their
Analysts examining every inch,
But I wonder if they'll see me,
Will they notice me?
I don't want to die here,
I'm too young to never wake,
Don't leave me here,
Just look over here because
I'm alive
