Angel

Never been that popular
but you like it that way,
Everybody stops and stares,
Because you radiate beauty,
But you can't see your own light,
All you see is the shade,

You never felt that good about yourself
and they whisper behind your back,
But little do you know
That they're just jealous,
They told you that you're ugly
but really they want your heart of gold,
I'm here to tell you that
You're an angel in disguise.

Your innocence is tarnished by
All they said,
But your faithful purity remains true,
You never thought you did enough,
Little did you know
You did more.
You're more precious than
Any diamond.

You care more about others,
And they wish that they could care for you.
The sun dips low,
But still you're working with no end.
You should have been their number one,
Still they keep on rubbing till it's raw.

You walk with your head down,
But they still see,
The halo round your head,
Tucking your shoulders back,
The secret remains that
Hidden beneath them are your wings,
They tell you that you're chasing your tail,
But they're really just trying to find your roots,
Don't let these people tell you otherwise,

But I think you're an angel.
