Tin woke up the next morning with a horrible headache and what he thinks is a small bruise under his eyes. He didn't remember much from last night, but he definitely remembered his fight with Can. Who could forget a slap like that? One he deserved.
He turned his phone on and was blown up by messages from Ae and Pete asking where he was and what had happened to him. He also had seventeen missed calls as from Pete. After arguing with Can he went back inside to grab his jacket and left, without saying anything to Ae or Pete. He sighed and messaged them back that he was home and safe. He wanted to say that he wasn't hurt, he was. He hurt himself and Can.
He groaned and laid back in his bed, looking up at the ceiling.
He had absolutely no idea why he said any of that. He was drunk and upset, and that wasn't even a good enough reason. He just did it. He didn't mean half of it. Sure, he was upset that Can didn't want to be with him in public, but was fine with being with that other guy. And the alcohol didn't help his anger or how much he hurt.
He needed to talk to Can. He needed to explain himself, even if Can doesn't except his forgiveness. They needed to communicate their feelings, or they wouldn't be getting anywhere.
He called up Ae and asked him to meet at the coffee shop, without Pete. He needed to talk to Ae about Can.
Ae arrived only a few moments after Tin did. He took his seat across from Tin and asked him what this meeting was about and why not bring Pete.
"It's just better if it's us." Tin told Ae who nodded.
"Is it about Can?" Ae questioned. Tin nodded slowly. "He called me this morning and told me what happened last night." Ae admitted. Tin groaned and hit his head on the table. Ae laughed and shook his head. "But for some reason, I'm still gonna help you." Tin looked up at Ae hopeful and confused.
"Why?" Ae sighed.
"Because no matter how much of a dick you can be, I don't think that you meant what you said." Tin laughed and nodded. "But if I'm gonna tell you what you need to know, you need to listen and understand how much it hurt him." Ae said in a stern tone. Tin nodded frantically.
"Yes. Please just tell me." He said before shutting up and letting Ae talk.
"A couple of years ago, when we were in high school, we were really good friends with this kid Boom." Ae began to explain. The name registered in his head. It was the same guy Can was having an argument with outside of his house. Tin choose not to interuppet and let Ae continue. "I hadn't been that close with Boom, not at close as him and Can were. They spent a lot of their free time together, and soon enough they were best friends. I don't know when it happened, or even how, but they ended up falling for each other, Can more so then Boom. They started a secret relationship. It was Boom's idea to not tell anyone because he didn't want to come out. Can wasn't out but didn't see it as a big deal, but because he really like Boom he choose to agree."
A few months after they started dating someone sent a rumor around school that they had been dating. Can tried to talk Boom into coming out with him and confirming the rumors but Boom panicked. He broke up with Can and denied the rumors. He went around telling everyone that Can was obsessed with him. That he tried to force Boom to do sexual things. He told people that Can would use Boom for his money." Tin groaned as Ae explained what had happened.
That's why Can is like that about money. That's why he was so upset last night. Tin thought to himself as Ae continued to talk.
"It was hard for Can. Boom was the first guy he ever dated. They were best friends and Can gave most of his firsts to Boom. First kiss. First time. First I Love You." Hearing how can was madly and deeply in love with this guy hurt Tin in ways he didn't know existed. "The rumors never stopped either and everyone talked about Can. When we graduated Can wanted to move as far away as possible, but his mom and Ley are here so he couldn't. He deleted a lot of his social media accounts and started college with a fresh new start." Ae explained. Tin closed his eyes and thought back to how hurt and upset Can looked last night. How could he have ever been that stupid?
"Can may seem stupid at times, or naive, but he means what he says. If he says he likes you Tin, he likes you. You are the first person that I've heard him say that about since Boom. Don't hurt him anymore."
Ae was right. Tin needed to make sure that Can knows how much he loves him.
Shit.
He loves Can.
