The car ride to Pete's mom's house was mostly silent. The only sound there really was was the radio playing music and ads. Can wanted to talk but didn't know what to say. Tin didn't either. So, they were just silent.
When they arrived Tin waited for Can as if they had been dating. It made Can flustered, but Tin didn't notice and he was very much thankful for that. Tin spotted Pete and Ae sitting on either side of Pete's mom, talking and laughing.
"Let's go meet Pete's mom." Tin said pulling Can's hand. Can had no other choice but to let himself be pulled along. And he didn't hate it. "Aunty." Tin said letting go of Can's hand as they approached the group.
"Oh, Tin!" Pete's mom said smiling wide and stood up to hug him. Pete and Ae were more surprised that Can was there. Pete was a little less surprised that he came with Tin. "Who's this?" She asked about Can after pulling out of their hug.
"This is Can. He's a good friend of ours. He's my plus one." Tin explained.
"Plus one?" The three others asked in unison. Tin nodded.
"Are you two dating?" Pete's mom asked. Both boys blushed and shook their heads. Tin smiled up at her.
"No Aunty. He's just a friend." Tin said.
For most of the night Can just stayed in the back as Tin interacted with everyone. He didn't know anyone so there was no point in following Tin around like a lost puppy.
He was sitting at a table by himself when two girls approached him and pulled two seats to sit in front of him.
"You're Tin's plus one, right?" The girl with brown hair asked. They both looked up at Can with big smiles on their faces. Can nodded slowly.
"Yes." They both laughed.
"I'm M." The one with brown hair said introducing herself.
"I'm Sprite." Introduced the other one.
"Can." He replied. They smiled and nodded.
"Are you two dating?" Sprite asked. Can blushed deeply. Why was everyone suddenly asking them if they were dating?
"No. We're just friends." Can said. Both girls groaned and sighed deeply. This made Can smile. "You like gay, don't you?" He asked. They both nodded shamelessly. Can laughed again. "So does my sister." He told them.
"We have to meet her." M said smiling. Sprite nodded in agreement.
"Are you gay, though?" Sprite asked. Can smiled and nodded.
"I am." He admitted. They laughed.
"We're your best friends now." Sprite said. They all laughed. Tin approached them and looked at them weird, but smiling.
"Sprite? M? Are you interrogating my friend?" He asked. They looked up at him and smiled, shaking their head. He smiled and shook his head turning to look down at Can. "Are you thirsty?" He asked. Can lifted the water that he got earlier.
"I have water." He said smiling up at Tin. Tin smiled back and nodded. He noticed that Can had taken off the jacket he was wearing earlier but was still wearing a long sleeve shirt.
"Are you hot?" Tin asked. He could see beads of sweat roll down Can's forehead. Can smiled and nodded but waved his hand like it was nothing.
"Yeah, but I'm fine." He said. Tin grabbed Can's arm and pulled him up.
"I'm sure if we ask Pete will probably have something you can change into that cooler." Tin said pulling him along. M and Sprite followed behind them. "Pete." Tin said once they reached where Pete was sitting with his mom and Ae.
"What's up?" He asked. He looked from Tin to Can and back up to Tin.
"Can didn't exactly dress the best for this kind of weather. Do you think that you would have something that would fit him that he could change into?" Tin asked. Pete thought for a minute before nodding.
"I think I may have some of my clothes still inside that I haven't moved yet. You can check if you want." Pete said. Tin nodded and went to pull Can inside but was stopped by Sprite and M.
"We had better take him from here. You'll put him in the ugliest clothes you find." Sprite said grabbing one of Can's hand. M grabbed the other. Before anyone could protest they pulled him inside.
After about ten minutes of looking for the perfect thing, they had finally got Can into the best outfit there was for him.
"How do you know Tin?" Can asked as they were adjusting his shirt.
"We don't really. I mean we've known Tin since we were little, but we know Pete more. Tin isn't exactly the most outgoing person. He on;y ever really hung out with Pete. Now you." M explained.
"Yeah. He was always cold and distant. It's weird. I've never seen him ask someone if they want a drink. Usually, it's people asking him. He's different with you." Sprite said making Can blush. They smiled wide at each other before aweing loudly.
"You're so cute." M said pinching his cheeks. Can slapped her hand away.
"I'm not a baby." He said. This caused them to laugh more.
"Let's go. Your Prince Charming is waiting for you." Sprite said. Can scoffed.
"Who?" He questioned.
"Tin. Of course." M said as if it were supposed to be painfully obvious. Can laughed and looked at them like they were joking. He immediately dropped his smile when he realized they weren't
"Wait. You're serious?" He questioned. They nodded. He shook his head. "No. Tin is a friend. Only a friend. Nothing more. Will never be anything more." Can said. It was like he was trying to reassure himself or convince himself more than anything. They looked at each other with a knowing look.
"Okay." M said holding her hands up in surrender.
"Whatever you say." Sprite said stepping back and taking one last look at their master creation. "Okay, let's go." She said linking her arm in his. M wrapped her arm around his on the other side, and they all walked out together.
