I GLIDE across the smooth water causing ripples but no breaks in the pool. The water is, of course, heavily chlorinated with that unique drying effect peculiar to municipal swimming pools but I don't care.
It's surprisingly silent in here with the sound of my gentle waves lapping the edges of the tiled walls. There's something so calming about slicing through water, being part of the vast body as you're engulfed by the loose molecules.
More than anything I love how I don't think about my life when I'm swimming. I don't think about work or home or anything in particular, I just get the relief of my mind swimming along and giving me a reprieve.
I just hope the security sensors have been sufficiently disabled, as I have in fact come here after closing. Never mind, if they hadn't fired me I wouldn't be here anyway.
