The first thing I saw was the same familiar ceiling of my hospital ward. I tried to blink my eyes twice as I tried to moved my fingers barely.
I'm alive. I'm a survivor. It was a success, right?
My head felt dizzy. My body feel light and tired, but nevertheless, it didn't stop me to try and forced my body to sit up.
I was still breathing with my oxygen mask on at sobrang daming nakakabit na apparatus sa aking katawan. I could even hear the loud beeping sound of my heart from the machine right beside my bed.
I intently looked at her.
Marahan akong tumango. She was right.
Ganito ba talaga kapag inoperahan? I groaned in pain. Hinimas-himas ko ang ulo ko hoping it would stop or, at least, somehow helped ease the pain but it wasn't helpful.
It made me wonder, nasaan si Daddy?
She took out the silver board na sinusulatan niya.
I had no other choice but to endure the pain. I tightly shut my eyes and let my mind rest hanggang tuluyan na rin akong nakaidlip ulit.
When I woke up, I heard the air purifier's sound. The small chatters at the corner and the simple moves on another side.
I still felt dizzy, but compared a while ago, I felt better. The small movements in my room inspired me to move. Again, I wanted to sit. I didn't want to lie down for another second. I tried to raised my hand.
Auntie's voice was the first one to welcome me.
I weakly smiled. I saw Shaien and Ally's here, too. Auntie and Uncle as well. However, I couldn't seem to find Daddy anywhere.
Where is he? Shouldn't he be here? Hindi ba niya ako hinintay magising?
Shaien and Ally were crying terribly. I could tell just by looking on how puffy their bloodshot eyes are. Auntie was sad, but she wasn't crying that much unlike Ally and Shaien.
I told them I felt better than I was a while ago. They all nod in relief. They asked me more questions if may masakit ba or how dizzy I am. I answered them all with honesty.
Auntie Carol took the liberty to talk to the nurses and resident doctors that went in and out of my room. I was grateful for that, but at the same time, I started to bother.
