Why would Mego lie to her? It hurt her feelings to even think this. While leaving GO Tower she kept feeling like someone was watching her and Drakken. She never did see anyone peering at them though.
"They're gone." Hego said to his sister. "So what's your plan? I will tell Kim if you don't."
Shannon pushed his strong body with a hand. He didn't budge. "Stop being a jerk. I'm gonna say I was kidnapped by Junior or something."
Hego made a negative sound with his mouth. "Wrong. You know very well she has contacted every single villian in the world, every hero, friend and foe. That won't work she'll investigate."
Shannon knew he was right. "I could say I've been held prisoner in another country by the village people."
Hego laughed. "Did they sing Y.MC.A. too?"
Shannon smirked at his sarcasm. "Well then, you got me with that one. No, they did not."
"Whatever you do dear sister make it count. Tell her you love her. Stop hiding how you feel. And just kiss her." Hego went to hug her, but she backed away. She saw the hurt look in his eyes and gave him a quick one.

Marissa had made Kim come over. She curled her hair and did her make-up.
"Why am I doing this?" Kim asked herself.
Marissa just smiled. "To get over that Shannon girl."
Kim rolled her green eyes. I'll never get over Shannon, she thought.
Marissa's face grew angry. She hated when people rolled their eyes at her. "Kim, she is gone and most likely dead. Now let's get you all pretty so we can go catch you a new fishie."
Kim's emotions boiled over in three seconds flat. "How dare you!" She stood yelling at Ron's wife. "Ahhh! Why do I even bother or put up with you at all? I try to be nice for Ron's sake, but you've really crossed that thin line, Marissa! I love Shannon I always will. I'm not ready for this at all."
Kim walked away, out the door and to her car.
Marissa watched in an unbelivable huff as Kim stepped on the gas and drove as quickly away as she could.

Kim didn't want to go crying to her mother, father or Hego. Her brothers were living in New York. They were working as music producers and doing science experiments. She rarely saw them these days.
She finally just pulled into a parking spot at StarBucks after ordering a Grande Dark Chocolate Frappuccino with peanut butter whipped cream with two shots of strawberry mixed in. It was pure Heaven in her mouth. Maybe I should've gotten a Venti, she thought.
This was better than drowning her feelings in a Martini or any liquor at all. Now she was craving the AlmondJoyous mix they had with extra coconut in the whipped cream. A sugar rush was just what she needed.
Her phone played her theme song as Ron called her. "Damn it." She said, knowing he was going to cry about hurting Marissa's feelings. Boo Hoo, Bitch! Kim thought and ignored the call. She couldn't do anything about destroying the marriage, but Ron could. Ron loved his wife and she was good to and for him. It was only when Kim was around that Marissa got defensive or said the wrong thing.
Kim got the AlmondJoyous mix in a Venti and headed to Joss's place. Her cousin was happy as a clam when she saw her.

"What none for me?" Joss said in her country twang. Her own red hair was braided down her back. She'd moved here about a year ago from Montana. "Come inside! Little Dayleigh is sleeping right now." She said of her two year old and being a teen mother was tough. The father wasn't in the picture at all. He was a drunk skunk that had a history of stealing cars and selling the parts. Joss didn't know this until Dayleigh was almost a year old. They'd never married, even though they had gotten engaged.
"Is Scott still in jail?" Kim asked coming inside and putting her drink down.
"Sure is cous, like the idiot he is. So what brings you to Lowerton?" Joss took a sip of Kim's drink, knowing she didn't mind.
"I need a friend. I'm going through a hard time. I miss Shannon like freaking crazy. I don't know what to do anymore. I know I should move on, but right now it's all too fresh."
"Like a coat of paint, huh?" Joss said with a single laugh. She shut herself up, knowing her humor could hurt her cousin's feelings.
Kim nodded. She pulled out Shannon's letter from her small purple backpack. "Read this. Mego found it recently."
Joss was sentimental and let a few tears fall, "Kim, I'm so sorry, hun. I wish there was something I could do to help you."

"Just letting me vent to you helps." Kim and Joss hugged.
"Anytime, now that here drink is quite tasty. I gotta get me one sometime." Joss took another long sip of the drink.
Kim laughed. "You can keep it. I'll get another on the way home." She put the letter back and sat down. "I can't stand Marissa. She wanted to doll me up and said Shannon's most likely dead somewhere!"
Joss made a squinty face and slowly said, "Shannon has been gone four years, Kim. That's a long time to be missing."
Kim didn't want to cry, but the way Joss said that made her do so. She felt weak in the knees so she sat on the couch.
Joss sat down and put her arms around Kim. "You just let it all out. Flush out those hidden feelings, girl. It'll hopefully make you feel better."
Kim cried a river and Joss just held her close.
