Mego came over and sat beside Kim. "I can't promise a miracle, but we can pray for Shannon together."

Kim nodded as Hego joined them. "You may not want to speak to me. Can you just listen to what I have to say?"

Kim looked up at him and rolled her green eyes. She then looked to her right and at then at Mego, to her left. She shrugged her shoulders and at looked at the floor. She knew if she spoke curse words and very hateful words would spill out of her mouth.

"First off, that necklace you have on was the last thing our mother gave Shannon before she passed. Shannon wanted it back as soon as I gave it to you. She had no clue I was going to gift it to you."

Kim touched the necklace. "If she wakes up I'll give it back. If she doesn't I'm keeping it as a reminder of her."

Hego nodded, "Yes, of course. Shannon begged me to keep her secret. She told me that she had to leave all because of you getting married to Ron. Shannon's feelings for you grew after the invasion and graduation. You and Shannon became closer and then Ron proposed to you. She saw it happen. That was when she decided to run away from everything."

Kim thought it was a bit childish to run away and not say anything to her. In another way she understood why Shannon hadn't said anything. Kim knew she'd get defensive about her sexuality and push her away.

"Four years though is too long. It's ridiculous and crazy. I spent four years looking for her. I feel stupid and hurt." Kim said and got up. "I need some air." She left to go outside.

"Should we follow her?" Mego asked his brother.

Hego sadly shook his head. "Give her fifteen minutes then go look for her."

Kim kicked the curb and cursed several times. People were looking at her as they walked to and from the emergency room. Tears fell from her eyes in sadness and anger.

"Kim?" A familiar voice said.

Kim looked up. She was stunned to see Ron standing there with Drakken.

"How is Shego?" Drakken asked desperately. She figured Hego had called them.

"All I really know is that a young girl hit her car and now she's in surgery." Kim told Drakken and Ron. She went to hug Drakken, but lingered back from Ron.

"I'm sorry, Kim. I'm sorry for saying the wrong words and everything. I just honestly thought Shannon was gone." Ron said coming up to her. "I don't wanna lose my best friend."

"Yeah, let that be in the past." Kim said, still not fully forgiving him. At least she hadn't heard what he'd thought as he left her home the other day.

Ron really did feel horrible now for even thinking that way. He saw he pain in Kim's eyes and twitchy motions as he watched her. His felt a little ill while seeing her break down. He was seeing his best friend fall apart.

He'd seen it before, but not like this. Year after year after Shannon had been gone Kim had gotten worse. Now, even though Shannon was back this Kim in front of him was the worst version. The truly fragile, heartbroken girl clinging to an ounce of hope.

Ron wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry, K.P." Kim let herself rest in his embrace. She cried loudly against him.

This also broke Drakken and he began to cry. Hearing Kim break down made him very emotional as well. He sat on the concrete and prayed silently for Shannon.

Mego saw them, but decided not to say anything and let Kim just be with Ron and Drakken. He went back inside to see a doctor talking to Hego. The doctor walked away just as Mego came back. "What's going on?"

Hego looked awful. "They had a complication, but fixed it just in time. She not completely out of the woods yet. I just don't understand how that young girl didn't get break anything or worse."

Mego shook his head and let out of yelp of frustration. "Me either, Hego! This is bullshit. That blonde girl gets a few scratches on her and our sister is fighting for her life!"

Kim stopped cold and stared at Mego. "Is Shannon dying?" Her thin voice broke into the boy's ears. They looked at her with great sadness. "Tell me." She said quietly.

Hego turned more to face Kim and to see Ron and Drakken with her. "Shannon is still  in surgery and they almost lost her. The doctors are still working on her and will let us know something soon." Kim just nodded and took a hand of his.

Drakken was now chewing on a nail. A very old habit when faced with something so dire.

Ron put an encouraging hand on Kim's shoulder. "We're all in this together." He silently prayed for Shannon to get better. He wasn't her biggest fan, but for Kim he'd do just about anything. His phone played a gaming type of sound and he pulled it out to look at the text message.

Marissa had texted him five times already. 'Are you still at the hospital?'  'Ron! Answer me' 'Damn it text me back!' 'Ronald Stoppable, if you don't respond you're a jerk' 'Seriously tell me what's going on.'

Ron messaged her, 'Shannon's in surgery. I'm with Kim, Drakken and two of her brothers.'
