It had been silent for the longest time. No words spoken or movement of any kind. Time wasn't even real right now. Just peace and rest was present. The brightness of a light flared into closed eyelids. It was calming and harsh all at once.

Eyes of green fluttered open slightly. "Where am I?" She asked herself in a whisper. Her surroundings were not visible yet. Her vision was blurred for a few minutes. For a moment she thought she saw someone she knew. This person faded into the back of her memory. The person felt awfully familiar almost like a parent.

As her vision became clearer the noticed the light above her. And she squinted at the fluorescent and turned her head. What the heck? She thought. The medical equipment beeped and she began looking at herself . There were tubes in her arm and on her face that attached also to her nose.

She panicked a little bit and it spiked her heart rate.

It wasn't long before a nurse came into the room to check on her. "Wow!" The tall black nurse said with a huge smile on her face. "It's a miracle that you're awake!" She came over and began looking Shannon over. "Take it easy, hon. You've been out for a while."

"What happened to me?" Shannon said weakly.

The nurse, Vivian, looked at Shannon with sad eyes. "You got hit by another car and have been in here for months."

Shannon sat up straighter. "Months?" She said angrily. "How many?"

"Almost five, dear." Vivain told her. "I'll get the doctor and call your family."

Shannon noticed the room was kind of cold. Her eyes looked to the window. It was dreary out there. It looked like it had rained. She felt the coolness of metal against her skin. A hand touched the metal and held it up to look at it. My necklace! She thought. Kimmie had given it back to her.

Hego touched Kim's shoulder eagerly. "Wake up!" He boomed. "Kim! You gotta wake up!"

Kim groaned and flung out an arm to shoo him away. "Ten minutes, mom."

Hego laughed. "Shannon would like us to be at the hospital in ten minutes."

Huh? This sentence made her sit up. "What?" She looked up at him.

Hego was smiling from ear to ear. "Get dressed. She's finally awake!"

Kim hurried to make herself look nice and not like a member of the Aadams family.

"Maybe we can start a pickle truck. You know like how they do tacos and other stuff," Drakken was excitedly saying as Kim opened the door to Shannon's room. "We could call it Pickletopia!" He shouted in glee.

"Sounds tempting." Kim said, coming over to the left side of the bed.

Drakken got slightly annoyed that she was interrupting his time with Shego. "Yeah, hi there."

Shannon smiled at Kim. "I'm sorry I was gone again for so long. This time I really couldn't help it."

"You're alive and it's a huge blessing." Kim said and kissed her forehead.

Drakkend rolled his eyes. "Just kiss each other already." He saw the looks from them. "Fine. I'll leave for a few minutes." He left noisily and the door clicked shut.

Kim ran her fingers through Shannon's black hair. "You're beautiful." Shannon's eyes drew Kim closer and they kissed softly. It was perfect and needed no rush. It was everything and more. Kim pulled back first. "I love you. I have for so long. I wish I could have told you years ago."
