Shannon was finally back at Go Tower two days later. Her brothers were being annoying by trying to take care of her. "Gah! Please just get out!" She told Mego and pointed at the door.
Mego smiled and winked, "Now there's my grumpy sister!"
Shannon laid back on her bed and let a tear roll down her face. She was grateful to be alive, but also wanted to sue the bitch that put her in the hospital in the first place.
Kim was bringing Chickfila to her soon. She also wanted it for the wedding reception, along with so much more.
Kim put her tote bag on her shoulder as she entered the elevator and pushed a button. She thought about the proposal and how she wasn't the one that hadn't done it. She had decided she still wanted to propose to Shannon.
She left the elevator and went down the long hallway to Shannon's bedroom. The door was open and she went into the room. "Hey!" She said happily. Shannon sat up. A warm smile came to her face. Kim leaned in to kiss her girlfriend.
Shannon kissed her back. "I don't think I've ever felt this happy."
"I know right. I feel the same." Kim sorted out their food.

Shannon felt bad. "I feel like crap for not getting you a ring yet."
Kim shook her head. "No worries, baby. You're still recovering from the accident." Nervousness spiked as she picked up a Chickfila sandwhich bag and felt the odd weight of it.
"Is something wrong?" Shannon asked, seeing Kim's facial expression change.
"Everything is just fine." Kim said and laid the bag near Shannon.
Shannon picked it up and held it for a moment. "Babe, I think something is wrong with this one." She opened it and looked inside it. After pulling the bread out she said, "They forgot to put chicken in this one." She rolled her green eyes while Kim was holding back a laugh. Shannon pulled the bread apart to examine it.
Her heart jumped in her chest and her green eyes grew wide in surprise. "Kimmie."
Kim moved closer and took the buns out of her hands. She tossed the top piece aside and held the bottom part of the bun in her hand. A beautiful silver band held a diamond that was laced with a flower design around it.
"I was going to ask you in the hospital, but you asked me first." Kim started. "I even asked Mego and Hego for their blessing. And of course they said yes!"

Shannon was crying now. A million emotions were stirring inside of her now.
Kim got the ring out of the bun and held the ring between her fingers. "Shannon Elizabeth Gordon, I would be overjoyed to have you next to me for the rest of my life. We've been through so much in our lives. I lost you for almost five years and I don't want that ever again." Kim cringed a little. "That is until death really does tear us apart someday. And I pray it's a very long time from now."
Kim was trying her best not to cry, but her voice cracked with emotion. "You are loved more than words could ever say. With all of my heart and soul. And from this moment on and always. Will you marry me?"
Shannon wiped her face with her shirt and nodded. "Ye . . . yes!" She said and held out her shaky hand. Kim slipped the ring onto her finger. Their lips met in a heated kiss and then pulled apart.
"I don't want a long engagement." Shannon blurted out. "I wanna marry you like tomorrow."
Kim laughed out loud. "My parents would have a fit if I married you tomorrow. I need some time to tell everyone and invite them."
Shannon looked away. "I really don't have anyone besides my brothers and Drakken."
Kim felt Shannon's broken heart break even more. She wrapped her in a tight hug. "I'm sorry about your parents."

Shannon felt Kim unwrap her arms from her body. "I'm so hungry." She said, changing the touchy subject. Talking about her parents was very hard for her. It was one of the few subjects that she rarely let her guard down about.
Hours later a rapid knock came to Hego's study door. Hego looked up from his work and said, "Come in."
Shannon came into the room and hurried over to her brother. "Look!" She screamed out. The ring was amazing and shiny.
Hego smiled happily up at her. "That's awesome, sister! Kim did a good job of picking that out."
"Kim and I are getting married in a month." Shannon told him.
Hego was shocked. "Wow that's really quick."
"There's still a lot we need to figure out. I just don't wanna wait a long time. After talking she agreed to the end of next month." Shannon said, leaning against his desk.
Hego stood up and hugged her. Shannon felt odd, but hugged him back. "Congrats, and what day is the wedding on?"
"Either the 24th or 25th of next month. Why am I so freaking nervous? This wedding stuff is already making me all jittery." Shannon inhaled deeply, then exhaled slowly.

"Is Kim still here?" Hego asked.
"Yeah, we're about to have a binge watch of Roswell. She's like obsessed with like fantasy, and supernatural stuff. It's the older one, not the reboot version." Hego just nodded and plastered on a smile. He wasn't sure what this show was about. And Shannon could now see it on his face. "It's about aliens."
"Oh, I see. Yeah, that's cool for you two." Hego could care less about this show. He was more into crime shows and mysteries.
Shannon said, "So Kimmie and I will go write ideas down and plan the wedding. We can talk later."
"Yes, Ron, that's right." Shannon heard Kim say as she entered the bedroom. "We'll meet up tomorrow. I'll text you later on. Bye." Kim hung up and shook her head. "Ron says I'm crazy for getting married to you so soon."
"Eh, who needs him or his permission." Shannon sat on the bed and saw Kim frown.
"I do, baby. I want him to be there. He's just angry that it's next month and not next year. I told him tomorrow is never promised to anyone. He changed his tone after that." Kim kissed her and looked at Shannon with so much love in her eyes.
"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." Shannon said and kissed Kim back.
