Hey do you guys want their love to be quick or long?
Connor's POV
Connor woke up for a start before Zoe had to yell at him. He hoisted himself up and stretched.
The boy checked his phone for the time. 6:58. He sighed.
"It's still not too late to try and fix everything. How about saying you love your parents before you go to school? Or saying goodnight to them? Make them breakfast in bed? Go to Zoe's jazz band concerts?"
Connor shook his head and got dressed. He already went to every single one of Zoe's concerts. He just never told her.
So, he settled with making his family breakfast. Slowly, Connor quietly tip-toed himself downstairs, satchel in hand.
He looked at the kitchen for a while, trying to think. What did his parents like to eat?
Larry's was easy: Coffee. Connor decided he'd give him a price of buttered-toast with his drink.
Cynthia: She also loved coffee, but sweet. Connor was definitely going to give her the same as Larry.
Now, finally, Zoe. She was definitely the easiest one: Omelets and milk.
Believe it or not, Zoe loves omelettes. Especially if you make the omelette light and fluffy.
And so, Connor got to work.
First, he made his two parent's coffee, adding honey and sugar to Cynthia's. Next, he toasted the bread while cracking eggs. (CrACk????)
Then, he buttered the bread and checked the time: 7:27. He quickly placed them down, wrote down Dad and Mom on sticky notes and placed them next to their meals.
Finally, Zoe's omelette was ready. Connor quickly flipped it on the plate, poured her a glass of milk, and set her breakfast down with a note with her name on it.
Now it was his breakfast, what to eat?
You don't deserve to eat. You've hurt too many people.
Evan would want me to eat!
He doesn't care about you.
Connor shook his head and settled with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some milk.
He bit into his sandwich and heard footsteps. He kept his eyes on the table, not wanting to make eye contact.
But his eyes slowly drifted to the stairs. Larry, Cynthia And Zoe were looking at the table with confusion and astonishment.
Larry slowly walked down and examined the note with his name on it. He looked at the food, then at Connor.
Cynthia followed shortly, tears at the brim of her eyes.
Zoe was the last one down, and the one with most confusion. She stared at the omelette in front of her, debating on whether it was poisonous or not.
Larry and Cynthia have already started eating, not having any idea on how to start up a conversation.
Connor looked expectantly and Zoe and she sat down and continued to eye her food.
"Well?" He asked, surprising everyone. Zoe's head shot up and looked at him. "You need to eat. You have jazz band today and the cafeteria food is gross."
Larry and Cynthia exchanged a look then smiled at Connor. Zoe slowly brought a fork of food into her mouth and swallowed.
She gasped at Connor, who was looking at her as if asking, "Is it good?"
