Connor's POV
The past month has been awesome so far. Evan and Miguel have been by Connor's side the whole time.
Sometimes Evan would cower in fear near Miguel, but Connor just thought that Miguel can be a little harsh sometimes and Evan was just a nervous cute smol bean.
Only a nervous smol bean, Connor. Don't let the gay get to you. Stop, you're thinking gay stuff again.
Y U SO GAY??!!
Connor shook his head and looked down at his sketchbook. He was of course drawing the one and only Evan Hansen.
"Murphy,"
Connor jumped at his name and almost fell out of his chair. He locked up at the teacher and smiled. "Yes?"
The teacher studied him for a while before going back to the lecture.

Connor walked into the cafeteria and examined the room for his two friends.
They were sitting at a back table in the corner. Connor walked towards them. The two, however, failed to hear or see him over the loud shouts of the other students.
"I p-promise I haven't said anything," Evan whimpered quietly. Miguel glared at him with a disbelieving look.
"That's what you always say," he growled. Evan looked at him exasperated.
"Because it's th-the truth."
"I'm getting suspicious."
"If I t-told anyone, why w-would I still be here? If I told anyone, sh-shouldn't you be in the office r-right now? I don't e-even have anyone t-to tell!"
Now Connor was curious about what they were talking about.
"What about that brown haired glasses idiot kid?"
"He would p-probably be guarding me and g-glaring daggers at you. Jared d-did that once."
Connor wanted to hear more, but Evan turned his way and waved. "Hey C-Connor! Over h-here!" He called.
The brunette smiled awkwardly, trying to process this new information. He sat down across the table from the other two.
"So, how are you guys doing?" He asked, trying to get answers.
"We've b-been uh, um great, actually! A-Awesome!" Evan said, a little too quickly. Miguel nodded and hummed in agreement.
"Hey Ev, what's with the jacket and the looks-like-makeup-but-I'm-not-really-sure covered face?" He asked. Evan eyes widened for a split second before he gave Connor a confused look.
Which looked too forced.
"C-Connor, it's uh-it's the um it's D-Decem-Demcember, do you um expect m-me to uh wear short s-sleeves?"
Connor looked at Miguel, who shrugged. "I mean, he does have a point. Aren't we both wearing jackets right now, Connor?" He asked, biting into his sandwich.
Connor muttered an "I guess" and opened his chip bag, before realizing that Evan didn't have any food.
"Ev? Why aren't you eating?" He asked, concerned. Evan snapped his head up.
"Oh! Um I a-already uh ate."
He was a terrible liar. (Haha, really? I'd say he's rather good at it!)
"Bullshit, Evan," he said sternly, making Evan jump. "you gotta eat. At least eat an apple or some shit."
The blonde boy nodded and went to eat a granola bar from a vending machine.
Connor took the time to talk to Miguel. "Have you noticed that he's been...distant? He's zoning out so often. Especially when I'm around. And is he wearing makeup?" He asked.
Miguel thought for a moment. "Maybe he's getting tired of you," he said bluntly.
Connor was taken aback. Was Evan tired of him? Evan ran back and sat down, granola bar in hand.
He sat down next to Connor this time, smiling. Connor blushed lightly and hoped it wasn't visible.
"Ev, are you tired of me?" He asked as Evan bit into the bar. He choked a little at the question.
"What?! No! I w-would never? Do I act l-like it?" He asked. Connor nodded.
"You're spacing out more often. Especially when I'm around. And are you wearing makeup?"
"I just h-have something on my mind. And n-no-I mean I'mnotwearinganymakeupImean
likewhywouldIwearmakeupthat'sa girlthingtodo??"Connor nodded slowly. "So Connor," Miguel said. "Wanna hang out after school?"
"Okay. Evan, are you free tod-"
"He's not coming."
Connor looked at Miguel, confused. Connor spent most of his time with Evan, and Miguel knew that, so why wasn't he letting the small boy join?
"Why not?" Connor asked, growling lightly. Miguel glared at him.
"You hang out with him too much. We never hang out one on one."
"So? What's wrong with that?"
"You need to hang it with me alone, motherfucker!"
"And why should I? I can choose, you bitch!"
Miguel scowled at Evan and turned around. Connor sighed and looked at the blonde boy.
He was trembling with fear, practically crying. Connor pulled Evan into a hug in comfort.
After a few minutes, the bell rung, signaling them to head to class. Connor pulled Evan up and the two walked to class together.
Yes, they have tried to get Miguel to come, but he was being stubborn and ignored them.
No, they didn't just kidnap him and force him to walk with them.
Connor looked over at Evan. He was crying a little during the hug.
And some of his "not makeup" washed off.
