Connor's POV
Connor never liked dinner with his family.
Maybe he did years ago, not now.
And he definitely did not like how this one was going.
He watched in horror as Larry curled his fist in and punched Connor's jaw.
Words failed.
Evan, surprisingly, grabbed his backpack, Connor's satchel and grabbed his arm.
"That's it, we're going to my house, now. Let's go, Connor," he said, glaring at Connor's father.
Connor, still in shock of what Evan did, let himself be dragged out. He could still feel Larry's rage back in the Murphy's household.
Evan quickly typed something into his phone. Connor was a bruised up and bleeding mess.
A few moments later, Evan started dragging Connor in the direction of his house.
It was quite a long walk, neither of them knew what to say after the events that occurred ten minutes ago.
Finally, they reached a small two story house painted a light blue. Evan fumbled in his backpack and pulled out a key.
He inserted it in and pushed the door open, peering inside before walking in.
Connor followed, taking off his shoes and sliding his satchel on the table.
Evan let out a shaky sigh as he sat down on a chair. He put his head down on the table, letting out a groan.
"Ow," Connor felt his jaw and nose. The pain has finally come, thank you.
Evan shot his head up and looked at Connor, worried. The small boy raced upstairs and came back with a white box and napkins.
He made Connor sit down on the couch and opened the box, taking out some sort of liquid from a bottle.
"Are you going to poison me, Hansen?" Connor asked as Evan poured the liquid onto a small cotton ball thing.
Evan shook his head and gently wiped the cotton onto Connor's cheek.
The taller boy immediately recoiled as soon as it made contact. It was fucking cold. On top of that, it stung and burned as hell!
"It's to make sure you don't get a bruise there, Con," Evan pointed to his red cheek. "If you don't put this on, I'll put something worse on it." (I just came up with this I don't really know how to do this stuff?? Please help me)
Connor groaned and nodded. Evan started wiping his cheek again, more gently this time.
Connor winced and soon the cotton was removed. Evan then grabbed napkins and dabbed the blood running down Connor's nose.
Blood still rolled out when he finished though.
Evan rolled up a tissue and gesture for Connor to block his bloody nose with it.
The taller boy did as instructed.
"Shit that hurt," he chuckled a bit.
"Oh gosh sorry! Do you n-need a d-different one?"
"Hansen, be more chill, it's fine."
Evan hesitated before nursing Connor's bruised jaw. (I don't know what to put so just imagine he fixed it)
After about ten minutes, Connor was all fixed up. Kinda.
The two were now curled up in blankets and pillows, watching a tree documentary, obviously.
"Evan! Are you awake?" Heidi opened the door, dressed in her nurse scrubs. She spotted Connor, his face a mess and quickly rushed over cupped his face.
"Oh my! What happened? Did you two use protection?! Wow, Evan, I never thought you'd be the kind to take dominan-"
"Mom!!!" Evan shouted, cutting her off. He was a bright red tomato now. Heidi looked a little confused.
"Wait," she said. "So you two didn't have se-"
"HOW WAS YOUR DAY MOM??!! HAHA!! ME AND CONNOR ARE JUST WATCHING A TREE DOCUMENTARY AND WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!"
Heidi chuckled and let go of Connor's smushed face. She went over to the counter and sighed.
"Evan, did you skip dinner again?" She asked, clearly annoyed and a bit disappointed.
Evan shook his head quickly. "I ate at Connor's with his family."
Connor winced when the word family fell out of Evan's mouth. He never really considered them his family. Just people who lived with him and have the same blood.
Heidi nodded slowly, announced that she was going to sleep, and heading upstairs.
Connor and Evan sat in silence for a while, before both sighing in unison. The looked at each other and laughed.
Evan yawned and curled up in the blankets more. Connor laid his head at the back of the couch and felt his eyes fall droopy.
He felt something hit his shoulder softly, but his vision blacked before he could see it.
~POV CHANGE~
Evan's POV
At some point, Evan woke up. The light were out something was rested on his head.
He started panicking, before realizing that it was just Connor.
Wait.
Connor Murphy's head was rested on Evan Hansen's head. And Evan Hansen's head was rested on Connor's shoulder.
Shit.
Evan slowly moved his head back, but felt Connor nuzzle into his hair and made a small whining noise.
Even more shit.
After a while, Evan just decided to stay there. Besides, Connor's presence was nice.
(BONUS!)
Heidi walked down the stairs, checking up on the two boys.
She smiled when she saw the two were asleep, heads rested on each other.
Heidi grabbed her phone, tiptoeing over to the pair and took a picture.
She set it as her wallpaper and closed the lights, going to back to sleep.
