Violet irises burned through dark eyes, straight to the skull. Without realizing, Hikari had taken the few steps and reached out. She had the attention of her childhood hero. There was no mistaking who he was, now that she was closer to him and looking at his whole face. He did not change much since they had met, except for the fact he now fit into his own wild hair. When he was younger, one could easily mistake him for a lion. The blackette did not think she had changed much, but it was obvious he did not recognize her by his bored expression.
Only one word tumbled from her lips in her shocked state, quiet as the breeze. "Hero..."
And he heard it.
First, gentle surprise flit over his face. His eyes widened a fraction, lips parting ever so slightly. Next, his expression turned to confusion. Lastly, he stared at her with complete surprise, like someone had told him a dark secret.
"You're...you're that girl from the alleyway...and the villain...years ago...the one I saved and the first person to call me hero..."
Hikari felt her chest swell slightly with happiness, her lips curving in a small smile. "You remember me?"
"Well, yeah," His violet eyes darted to and fro, as if he were looking for the words. "Of course I would. Why wouldn't I remember you?"
"Right, right." Hikari mentally slapped herself and moved to stand more casually beside his taller figure. "My name's Hikari Chiba, by the way." right."
The lilac haired male rubbed the back of his neck, eyes following Katsuki as he ascended the stage. "Hitoshi Shinso."
"It's nice to finally meet you, Hitoshi. Er, at least, again and properly, anyway."
"I could say the same, Chiba."
"Please, call me Hikari. I'd like that better."
"Okay...Hikari."
"We-" Hikari was interrupted by the crowd booing and shouting exasperatedly at Katsuki. Her eyes scanned out the crowd as she looked at everyone's expressions, a bit confused. She had not been listening to what Katsuki said, but whatever it was, it was safe to assume it was rather unappealing.
Once the crowd died down, Nemuri Kayama-AKA Midnight-began to speak into her microphone with questionable enthusiasm. "Without further ado, it's time for us to get started!"
Hikari felt Hitoshi shuffle closer to her and lean down slightly to speak into her ear. "We should continue our conversation after the festival. For now, may the best student win."
She caught sight of a small smirk on Hitoshi's lips. When he glanced at her for her response, she simply smirked haughtily-albeit playfully-in return. She slipped back to the previous spot she had been standing and turned her attention to the stage.
"This is where you begin feeling the pain! The first fateful game of the festival!" Nemuri shook the tassel in her hand around. "What could it be?!"
The screen above her spun furiously before suddenly stopping.
"Ta-da! An obstacle course! All eleven classes will participate in this treacherous contest."
Well, duh. Are there games in there that don't include all participants? If so, then the people who came up with these games are kinda missing the point...
"The track is four kilometers around the outside of the stadium. I don't wanna restrain anyone, at least in this game." Nemuri paused to lick her lips. "As long as you don't leave the course, You're free to do whatever your heart desires! Now then, take your places, contestants!"
