Days went by. Every day, Eijiro and Hikari trained together after school. Some days Mina, Hanta or Denki joined them. Despite the amount of training, however, Hikari was nothing but anxiety on the bus to the Provisional Licensing Exam location.
"Hikari."
Hikari glanced at the avian male sitting beside her.
"I have some unfortunate news."
She rose a brow curiously, still practically hugging the bus window.
"During this exam, I don't believe we should stay near each other as light is my weakness. If we stayed near each other, one of us would be unable to use their Quirk." Fumikage had his arms crossed and his eyes shut.
"I figured as much." She pressed her lips together.
"I won't be there to help you keep a cool head."
Hikari swallowed though it felt like she just swallowed sand. The bus pulled to a stop and hissed quietly. The students filed off and most took a breath of fresh air. Hikari wrung her hands nervously, biting her lip harshly. A hand grabbed hers. She met the kind eyes of Eijiro who smiled at her reassuringly.
"Don't worry. Let's work together, okay? After all, we've been training together since the beginning and think alike! I think it'd be the best chance for success. Whaddya say?"
Hikari nodded slightly, still chewing her lip. It was true; when fighting, they thought a lot alike and due to his Quirk, he can effectively protect his eyes and skin from her light.
Kyoka whined. "Uuuuggghhh...I'm getting kind of nervous!"
Minoru bounced back and forth on his feet before sighing and slumping. "I wonder what they're going to make us do. Ugh! What if I can't get my license?"
"Mineta." Aizawa bent down. "Don't ask if you can. Say you will."
Don't ask...say it. Hikari clenched her fists. I will get my license. Whatever it takes. If I don't earn it, I can't do what I came to U.A. for in the first place. The license will allow me to save civilians. She took a deep breath and looked around her class, feeling as if they were all giving her power. Whatever it takes.
"Right. Sure. I've so got this!" Minoru cheered.
"If you can pass this test-"
If? You were just saying to not ask if! Hypocrite.
"-and get your provisional licenses, then you novice eggs will hatch into chicks. You'll be semi-pros. I expect your best." Aizawa said.
"Alright! I can't wait to be a heroic chicken!" Denki grinned.
Hikari rolled her eyes.
"Let's call out the usual, you guys. On my mark. Go Plus..."
Eijiro's voice blended with a tall male's. "ULTRA!"
A violet haired male spoke, catching Hikari's attention. Something about him kept her from looking away. He spoke to the busty female beside him. "Y'know, it's pretty rude to barge into other people's huddles like that, Inasa."
The tall male dubbed Inasa stilled. "What?! Pardon me! I am so-" He slammed his arms against his sides. "-very-" He bent over, slamming his head against the ground, making Hikari yelp. "-extremely sorry!"
Hikari cringed away, hands covering her mouth.
"Who is this guy? I do not trust his enthusiasm." Denki scowled.
Kyoka commented. "Hey, look at their uniforms."
Hanta continued her thought. "They're from that famous school on the other side of Japan."
