Allison pov

The sky seemed bluer than usual. The way the sun was shining through the trees made the slightly changing colors pop.

Jordan walked beside me and beside him was peanut. The dog seemed happy to be out of the walls and I felt the same way.

Now that I think about it I never really see peanut around.

"Up here you want to make a left." Jordan said.He was telling me the directions to get to the other community and ways to get back.

I nodded.

Looking around I noticed that there were almost no zombies.I could see tiny little shadows of some but they were pretty far way.

In fact it was almost like me and Jordan decided to just go out for a walk on a normal day.

It grew into a comfortable silence between us.Peanut was walking slightly ahead of us now.

Jordan stopped and held his arm out to stop me.

I instantly stopped and reached for my machete. " what? Why did we stop? "

Jordan pointed down the street we were on.
Squinting my eyes I saw nothing. " What am I supposed to see? "

Jordan smiled " See that pole at the end of the street. "

I slowly nodded.

"I wanna race."

I crossed my arms " Really Jordan ,we get sent on a delivery run and you want to race? "

"Come on Ally i never get to race anyone and peanuts a dog and we all know you can't brag to a dog."

I sighed " I get a head start. "

We both lined up.
Jordan snickered " Ready to lose. "

I just rolled my eyes.
To be honest this slightly seemed familiar.

"Alright.On your mark.Get set.Go!"

With that I pushed off my right leg and ran has fast as I could. The sound of my feet hitting the concrete ringing in my ears.

Then there was the sound of another person's feet.Looking over my shoulder i saw Jordan catching up.

Soon enough he passed me and I was only a few feet away.

I now know why this felt familiar.
This is how me and Jordan meet.
How we became friends.

~flashback ~

I was new.New to the town and new to the school.

The school was massive and hundreds of kids went there.

Now usually that would mean that a new kid could easily make new friends.
And for the most part all the new kids did fit in.They did make new friends.

Except for me.
I was the weirdo.
I was the creepy ,depressed kid that no one wanted to talk to.No one wanted to be friends with me.
To them I was scary.

It had been a month and some change and still no one had tried to even be my friend.
They all labeled me as the creepy girl that would kill you if you talked to me.

And if course instead of trying to make friends I just went along with their story.
It wasn't hard.

One day while I was sitting on the bench at recess, wishing I had a friend, a boy walked over to me.

He was tall-ish with slightly tan skin.
Dark brown hair, and dark, almost black eyes, with a light spray of freckles on his face.

" See that fence on the other side of the field. "He said and pointed.
