   Kirsten's pov

I always loved watching the sun rise.Watching the light chase away the darkness.Besides I always wake up early thanks to nightmares.

Same thing everyday.Wake up,go out,come back,go to sleep,have nightmares, repeat.

I sigh,maybe one day all this chaos will be over.Maybe one day I will be able to sleep without nightmares.

"Hey." A voice came out of nowhere making me jump.I look up to see Riley.
"Sup." Riley sat down next to me.

" The sun rise is pretty.It's gonna be a good day i can feel it. " I laughed at that comment. "Face it Riley every day is like living in hell." Riley looked at me eyes wide " language kirsten! " "what"i said"it's not that bad of a word."

We sat there for awhile in silence.
"Hey riley ,can I ask you something?"
" you just did. " I looked at her and just blinked a few times. "Sure Kirsten go ahead.".  " do you ever think about what would happen if one of us turns. "

                             Silence

"No,not really." she raised her eyebrow"do you? "

"Sometimes."

Riley sighed "look kik-

" you guys up there! " we heard Allison yell.
"Yeah"Riley answered"we're coming down now!". And with that another horrid day began.

    We had been walking around a while and I finally decided to ask "where are we going?" " We are going to find some more wood to fix the hole in the house. "
I nodded.A few days ago a zombie had found a weak spot in the house and made a huge hole in the side of it.

After what seemed to be a 500 mile walk we reached where we wanted to go.

An old hardware store that was about on its last life. "Alright"Allison said"we get in, grab what we need,and leave."
It seemed rather Simple. 
But if course I didn't say that out loud.

Once inside the store we split up.I thought it was stupid because everyone that dies in horror movies are the ones who split up.

While looking for wood I found some duck tape and some nails that weren't rusted.The place was completely looted and everything that wasn't gone was pretty much useless.

    "We are never going to find anything in here." " speak for yourself. "Kirsten jumped at the sound of a voice." you know that's twice you've scared me today. " Riley laughed "Sorry didn't mean to scare you. But it's time to head back."
"We just got here." " No.We've been here for a few hours,plus it takes a while to get back home. " "A few hours?how, all I found was duck tape and some nails." " well that's what happens when you're in dream land for to long. "

   
      " Our feet hurt!"Me and Riley complained. "So does mine but you don't hear me complaining!" Allison said over her shoulder. "When are we gonna get back home?" " when we get there. " "how much longer!?" Allison stopped and turned around " do all you guys do is complain? "
"We're sorry we're tired and want to get home but right now that's,from what I see,not gonna a while." Riley snapped.

Allison rolled her eyes.
"Hey" I said"I know where we are! "Yeah so do we." Riley said. "I know a shortcut back to the neighborhood!"
This got their attention.
"A shortcut?" Allison asked curiously
I nodded "Just through the woods and down a little path and it'll take us to the back of the neighborhood."

Riley looked at Allison and shrugged"it's worth a try.Besides it'll get us home faster. "
Allison sighed then nodded"lead the way kirsten. "

    The small forest was quite and pretty.The sun was going down and the last bit of light shines through the leaves. "Pretty." I whispered. "How much further?" Allison asked from behind. "Just a few more minutes." I answered.We made it down to the path ,which was out in the open mostly.

It was getting dark and I started to panic a little. "Kirsten you good?" Riley asked has she and Allison both had a concerned look on their faces,or what looked like concerned looks, it was a little to dark to see.

"Yeah"I answered"just not the biggest fan of the dark." " well than let's just get home and we can start a fire. "Allison said.I nodded.We started to continue walking and tried to stay on the path but at some point we wandered off of it. "We can still find our way back." Riley said trying to be optimistic .

Suddenly we heard a low moan.We froze.
Ever slightly in the moonlight I saw something move.Crap! "Zombie!" I screamed.The zombie lunged at us and we took off running. "Kirsten throw one of your knives!" Allison screamed at me.
I reached down and grabbed one,turning on one foot I threw it towards the zombie.It sunk into its throat and it growled in annoyance.Allison grabbed her machete and ran up to the zombie. "Ally wait!" Riley called.I looked at Riley,she was panicked but what about? I followed her eyes to where  she was looking and saw a wire on the ground shimmering in the moon's light.

"Wait ,stop!" I screamed along with riley but Allison wouldn't listen. Has she reached the zombie and tripped the wire, it wrapped around her ankle and launched her up.Not only a few seconds after the wire set off something rushed last me and Riley and landed in Allison's shoulder.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" Allison screamed.We cut her down,She dropped forwards,Me and Riley caught her before she hit the ground.There was no doubt in my mind that other zombies had heard that. "Come on Riley we got to move!" Riley frozen stared at the unconscious girl in her arms. "Riley! We can't help her if you just stand there!"

We carried Allison back to the house at a fast pace.Once inside Riley snapped out of her daze and started taking control of the situation. "Kirsten get me water,a rag,the med kit and start the fire.I nodded quickly and did has she asked.

Once the fire was started we could finally see what happened." It was an axe.Sliced her arm and damaged her shoulder. "Riley spoke.I looked at the deep cut on  my friends shoulder.Her arm cut open and her ankle had bruises and some bleeding from where the wire wrapped around it." help me with the bandage. " "Yeah okay." I said.

After we wrapped Allison's arm and shoulder is at down in the chair beside her.  I looked down at my hands.They were covered in blood.So much blood.
