Dinah's POV

Rocking my head side to side while listening to some reggae music, I heard a knock at my door which I removed my earphones out of my ears.

"Dinah, your girlfriend is here." My dad teased as I got my jacket and brushed beside him as he began to follow right beside me.

"She's not my girlfriend," I rolled my eyes as he walked with me towards Y/N who was making mum laugh like no tomorrow, "yet."

Y/N took a quick glimpse my way and did a double take when she realised that I was ready to leave. I saw her stare at my clothes a while longer, hoping that I wasn't too under dressed when meeting her parents for the first time.

"W-wow DJ you look beautiful." Y/N stutters but turns to my parents," I can see where she gets it from."

My parents swooned over her witty compliment, I finally had to drag Y/N out of my house and into the car so my parents wouldn't try to keep us waiting from her own parents.

Though as time passed as Y/N drove us, I was feeling really anxious. Like what if I wasn't good enough for their daughter? Or what if they judged me by the way I looked? Like what if-

Pulling me out of those thoughts, I felt Y/N interlock her free hand with mine and brought it to her lips.

"Relax babe. There's nothing to worry about." She smiled reassuringly as we stopped at the hospital.

Turning off the engine and unbuckling her seat belt, she swivelled her body to me so she could face me.

"They will definitely love you and personally if they don't, then they will have to deal with it because I don't plan on leaving you anytime soon." Cupping my cheeks with her warm hands as I formed a small smile at her comment.

I nodded my head and she quickly pecked my forehead before we got out of the car to make our way to Y/N mum's room.

After a few minutes of walking, we made it to the room and this time it was Y/N who hesitated to knock on the door as her hand was midway in motion.

Squeezing her hand, she looked down at our hands and took a breath out before continuing the knock.

"Come in."

As Y/N slid the door open, I immediately notice Y/N's dad peeling an orange with his bare hands and passed it to Y/N's mum.

"Y/N! I didn't expect to see you so soon." Y/N's mum smiled and scanned to me. "This your girlfriend?"

Almost chocking on air when hearing about being Y/N's girlfriend by Y/N parents took me by surprise.

"She will be." Y/N winked at me then soon turned back to her parents. "Mum, dad, this is Dinah Jane. Babe this is Y/M/N and Y/D/N."

"It's nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N." I politely say.

"We finally get to meet the person who makes Y/N happy." Y/D/N says.

"Also don't call me Mrs. Y/L/N." Y/M/N sternly says making me super worried, "it makes me feel old. Call me Y/M/N."

Y/N rolled her eyes and brought the both of us seats to sit near her dad.

From what I remember from Y/N, her parents didn't end on good terms so to see them have a normal conversation was something that made Y/N's expression gleam in relief.

"Y/N would it be okay if you could come help me grab some water and food for your father. He hasn't eaten anything since this morning." Y/M/N asked as she finished off the last slice of orange in her hand.

Complying to her mum's wishes, she left the room and closed the door right behind her. I was planning to go with her but it seemed that the parents wanted to talk to me alone.

"How long have you two been a thing?" Y/D/N questioned as he went to use the sink to wash off his hands.

"A little bit over a month." I smile as Y/M/N smiled back.

"Gosh do you remember when we met Y/D/N?" Y/M/N chuckled as if their first memory together was hilarious.

Y/D/N stayed quiet when he turned back out of embarrassment, slightly pink on the cheeks.

"Yeah I made a fool out of myself." He looked at me whilst scratching his neck.

"Let me tell you what he did Dinah. He-"

Y/M/N halted her talk as she looked directly at her hands that was under Y/D/N's hand. She placed her other hand on top of his and continued, "He told me that he needed to use my phone because he had misplaced his own phone somewhere. So as a generous lady I was, I gave him my phone and he gave it a ring to then hear the spice girl's voices coming from his bag."

Groaning at the memory, Y/D/N buried his head into his hands as Y/M/N and I laughed at the story.

"To be fair, Get Down With Me is a great song!" Y/D/N defended which didn't stop us from our laughter.

When the door opened once again, I saw Y/N hold some food that she got for her dad and I decided to go help grab the food that was on the verge of falling out of her hands.

"Everything go okay when I was gone?" Y/N looked at me worrily.

I looked back at the old couple and looked back at Y/N with a smile, "Everything is fine."
