Dinah's POV
Because of my foot being a pain for me to walk on, Y/N thought it was best to leave the nurses office now. Her words made sense so there wouldn't make it difficult for me to walk through the corridor, full of students running off to lunch.
"Alright since your foot still hurts and we have five minutes till the bell, do you want me to carry you'll meet up with Lauren and Camila?" Even if I was going to say no, Y/N carried me bridal style and we walked, well she walked us back to the field.
It was nice to be in peace and quiet. You'd like it if your crush was holding you like their life depended on it because they were cautious of not bringing you anymore pain.
Was it weird to want to know everything about Y/N? She was a complete stranger to me only hours ago and now she's taking care of me. How in the world does that happen? She's like an interesting book that I can't seem to out down. Y/N placed me in the shade and took a seat next to me.
"Tell me about your siblings Y/N. I don't think I've seen them around before." Y/N had a big smile on her face. I could tell that she valued her bond for her siblings as did I. Family is everything to me and I could see that her siblings meant a lot to her.
"That's because you haven't seen them before. I have a younger brother and sister named Jace who is turning nine this year and Alice who is seven. Since my parents didn't give much attention to my brother and sister, they would rely on me so much. Of course as an older sister I will do everything and anything in my power to help my siblings and one of them was to get my parents to show up the their school musical." I could feel Y/N getting heated in anger so I grabbed her hand and rubbed circles on the back of her hand with my thumb.
"I could never understand how my parents had no time to visit their children for a school musical they talked about at home for months but they had the time to wreck their entire marriage up by cheating on each other behind their backs." Y/N breathed out a laugh and looked at the sky like she was trying to distract herself from the tears that were begging to come out.
"My parents weren't always like that you know? They once were amazing parents who would spend all their time and attention to my siblings and I. I don't even remember when it started but all the fond memories I have with them are now lost in a pit of fire I feel for them now. You can tell that I hold so much anger towards my parents but I really don't want to you know? They are my parents for christ sake. They brought my into this world and I've wanted to make them proud but what's the point if neither of them want to take responsibility of my siblings and I?"
"It's hard enough that I have to live on my own with my siblings and money isn't even the start of my worries. My siblings are still growing children. They need a childhood where they will remember for a life time. I know my childhood has been long forgotten and done with but I can't let that happen to my brother and sister. They deserve so much better than to grow up without parents that disowned them and an older sister who can't give them the life as a child before they become adults."
I didn't know I was crying till Y/N's hand was on my face, wiping the tears away. Y/N was struggling with her own life outside of school and it made all my problems so insignificant. In all seriousness, I'm lost for words. She is such a selfless person, willing to go the measures to give the best for Jace and Alice.
All I could do was pull her into a hug. It felt like she was consoling me but how do you speak after that conversation? She's definitely not okay and it seems that there aren't any relatives that help her out. It's just horrible how adults can ruin their lives for not only themselves but their children.
"Thank you for crying and listening to me Dinah. I haven't cried since the intolerable day of my parent's divorce." I kept my head on her shoulder and lightly nodded. I liked how comfortable we were in each other's arms. Felt like time was on our side for once but I spoke too soon when my stomach rumbled. Y/N released me and I was blushing at my hunger.
"Looks like someone is hungry." she giggled and took her phone out to call someone. Her giggle was music to my ears. It's just one of those sounds that gives you an instant smile. I couldn't help but look at her with adoration. When the call went through, Y/N put it on speaker.
"Hey Al you at the cafeteria?"
"Yeah I am. Do you want me buy you food?"
"You know me so well Als. Much love." Ally and Y/N began to laugh but then got cut off with a familiar voice.
"Hey that's my girl you're talking to!" Lauren yelled which got me all jumpy. Oh my god they got together! But how?
"Chill Jauregui, that's not how you speak to a person who helped you get your girl. Remember?" she smirked and we heard a groan from Lauren. Now this is something I want to hear from Alren.
"Anyways come quickly because someone else is just as hungry as I am. Buebyee."
Y/N ended the call and stretched her arms in the air whilst yawning. I wonder how Normani and Camila are doing? I hope they remember to get my bag otherwise I'm going to give the two girls a poly beatdown that they will never forget.
"Now that I have Alren next is your friend Camila's turn with Normani." Wow so Y/N's playing match maker. That's interesting. Usually I'd be the one who would be playing cupid.
"How would you suggest to get the two to be together?" Y/N thought for a second and snapped her fingers like she knew a plan.
Ally and Lauren were now walking their way to us with their hands intertwined with each other. Damn Y/N did a good job at bringing Alren together. When the couple sat down in front of Y/N and I, Ally passed Y/N a burger that I usually buy too. What a coincidence.
Y/N took the burger and literally ripped the burger in half, passing me one of the halves. Ally's face turned amused as Y/N was holding out the burger to me.
"Come on princess, I know you're hungry. I'm not sure if you'll like it because no one really buys it but just eat this till your bag comes back for you to eat your lunch." I nod and take the burger into my hands. I loved the spicy chicken burger. No one eats it because people can't handle spice but looks like I found someone who can.
Even though my stomach was rumbling earlier, I didn't realise how fast I could eat when I took my first bite into the burger. If you say that food doesn't make you happy, I don't think I could be friends with you.
I kept glancing at Lauren and Ally who were cutely looking at each other when the other didn't notice. I've got to ask how they got together.
"Lauren you want to tell me how you finally got the balls to ask Ally out?" Y/N was still eating her burger but I could see a smile surfacing. Ally and Lauren were blushing and very nervous. So cute!
"First off I do not own any 'balls' and secondly it was thanks to Y/N." I hummed and felt a woosh of air behind me.
"What did we miss?" Camila came behind me with my bag in her hand. Normani came behind her and the two look like a mess. The two sat to connect the circle, passing my bag to me. I am so interrogating Camila later. There's no way she's hiding anything from me.
"Why don't you ask the pair of lobsters over there?" I sipped on my water bottle and saw the two embarrassingly explain their story to the rest of the group.
