As I walk down Bourbon St, the sidewalks are packed. There are so many different people and species. I learned at school how to identify different supernatural creatures with how much magic they held. As I walk down the street, I could feel multiple vampires, some werewolves, and many witches. I look at the storefronts lining the street, most of them fake voodoo shops and souvenir stores. I look up to the top couple levels, seeing the balconies overlooking the street, with apartments inside. I then reach the building that has no storefronts on it, and I enter the Mikaelson Compound.

As I close the large metal black gate, I yell, "Hope! Hayley! Fre-"

I am then cut off by Hope saying, "Chill, I'm right here."

As I walk into the courtyard, I see her sitting on of the outdoor chairs. "Hey!" I say opening my arms for a hug.

She hugs me, and asks, "Wait, how did you get here. You're supposed to be at school."

I playfully roll my eyes, and say, "Now you sound like every adult I talked to yesterday. But I took a plane here, to make sure you didn't do anything stupid."

I see her face falter for a second, but she brought back the smile. I ask worried, "You didn't already do something stupid right?"

"No," Hope says with a smile, laughing it off.

"Good," I say with relief.

Hope then looks behind me, and asks, "Are those your bags?"

"Yah," I say with a nod.

"I was wondering who's those were," she says. Her face then goes to confusion, and she asks, "How did you get Mr. Saltzman to let you leave?"

A mischievous grin form on my face and I say, "Who says he let me leave?"

Hope mouth opens in shock, "Alex finally breaking a rule or two."

I then say with a smile, "Well, I was planning on sneaking out, but before I left Mr. Saltzman stopped me because he needed me to do a locator spell. So I made a deal with him, that if I did the spell, I could leave, now I'm here."

I grab my duffle, and I sling my 100 lb backpack over my shoulder, and Hope laughs, "I'm glad to see your still your normal self, with you and all your textbooks."

I do a sarcastic, "Ha ha." This just makes Hope laugh harder. I then say, "These are mostly grimours, but some of them are textbooks. Because I may be able to not study and do fine, but you, my friend aren't so lucky. So I bought them for you because I knew you wouldn't."

"True," Hope says with a laugh.

Just then Freya comes in and says with a smile, "Hey, Jailbird." She then turns to me and shock spreads across her face, "Oh, hey, Alex."

I smile, and both Hope and I reply, "Hey."

Freya says with an uncontrollable smile, "I've got some news about me and Keelin-"

I ask with a smile excitedly, "Is she coming back?"

Freya laughs, "I wish I got the same expression from you from knowing that."

I smile laughing slightly, "You do, trust me, you can ask Hope. I mean who else could have taught us all those spells last summer? It's just Keelin hasn't been here for forever."

Freya says with an eye roll, "It's been a little shorter than forever."

"Whatever," I say sarcastically.

Freya turns to Hope and asks, "Where's your mom?"

There's confusion runs across Hope's face, "I don't know. She said she'd only be gone a few minutes, but then she never came back."

Freya asks, with worry laced in her voice, "Where'd she go?"

"Outside to make a call," Hope says. I can tell Freya is slightly worried, and this causes me to be concerned as well. There's a moment of silence before Hope asks with a worried face, "Auntie Freya?" Freya and I both follow Hope's eyes to the fountain behind us located in the middle of the courtyard, and I see that it's running with blood.

"I know I'm not that experienced, but that can't be good," I say, the worry building up inside.

I quickly get to work, grabbing a piece of Hayley's t-shirts, and start to track her scent. It's still strong, and I get pulled out to Bourbon St. I move through the streets with ease following the still prominent scent. I then turn down the first alleyway I come across, and once I reach a couple feet in between the two buildings it stops. The scent just disappears. I look around for any clues at all why this would happen. I look down to see Hayley's now smashed phone. I pick it up, and I hear Freya ask, "Did you find anything?"

I nod, "Just her phone." I hand the phone to Freya, but I still continue to look around.

Freya must've noticed my worried look, and asks, "Is everything ok?"

My eyebrows scrunch closer together, "No." I turn back to her, "Hayley's scent, it just stops here."
Freya shrugs her shoulders, "Maybe it just faded away."

I shake my head, "No, you don't get it, scents don't just fade away in certain places. Her scent was still so strong on the street, and then it just disappears. It had to have been masked somehow, and the easiest way I know is by magic." Both Freya and I share a look, and I say, "It was probably a witch."

As we both walk back into the Mikaelson Compound, Hope is still staring at the blood running in the fountain.

Freya pulls her attention, "Alex found this in the street." Freya hands the badly cracked phone over to Hope. The phone then begins to buzz, and the name Klaus Mikaelson appears on the screen. Hope glancing at both Freya and I, before answering, "Dad."

I use the control over my werewolf hearing to my advantage, I know definitely invasive, but maybe he knew something. I hear her father say after a long pause, "I was looking for your mother."

Hope stutters a little, "Yeah, so are we. Um...I don't know where she is. She's missing."

I then hear him say, "I'm on my way."

I immediately know that this isn't going to end well, but Klaus is probably the best chance for us to find Hayley.
