Disclaimer: The guy in the pic above is Connor, and he was a minor character in Legacies season one, but he's going to be a more recurring character in this story :)

After three classes, I was beyond tired. I have been getting little to no sleep these days because when I'm not buried in school work, I'm thinking about Hayley. I want to help, but I know that I'm safer here and if I think of anything a dozen of the New Orleans witches have already tried it. So I get to sit and my bed wondering the worst for hours until sleep finally takes me. I want to travel to the Otherside because maybe someone could tell me something, but I only get called, I can't be the one to call—that's always how it's been. As I walk down the hallway, I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I check my phone to see a text from Connor, "Come meet me at our spot." I smile knowing he wants to meet me at the turret. I quickly run up to my room and drop off my books in the dorm, and run to one of the back hallways out the door. The turret is a white gazebo that's in the way back lawns of the school—it's right next to the forest. All of the older students come here to smoke weed, but I usually come here to meet Connor. As I sneak out the back door, I make sure to closes it without a sound. I know that most of the students will be at dinner or inside at least because it's already pretty dark out with the sun already down. I see the white outline of the gazebo, and I look closer and am able to see a silhouette standing inside it. Once I reach the steps, I whisper, "Connor?"

He turns, and I can see his face. I see a smile grow as he says, "Alex?"

I bring him into a hug, and he tightens his embrace. He pulls me up slightly off my feet, saying " Hey." He and I have been friends since that birthday celebration two years ago at the Grille. Of course, he doesn't know what I am because he could spill the whole thing about this school, but besides that, he and I know everything about each other.

Once we take a step back, I reply, "Hey. So why did you want to meet so late?"

He smiles, "Well, I have something to ask you..." I nod my head, telling him to continue, "There's this dance, and I didn't know any girl from Mystic Falls High School that I wanted to ask, but there was one that went to a different school in town."

A smile grows on my face, and I ask sarcastically mocking him, "Are you Connor, asking me Alex, to a Mystic Falls High dance?" I finish with my mouth open in fake shock.

He laughs, "Well, now I'm rethinking it." He jokingly turns away.

I laugh, and say, "No, no," Grabbing his arm, and pull him back closer to me. "I want to go with you," I say with a smile. As I look up at him, I see that there are only a few inches between us. I look down at his lips and then back up at his eyes. He then moves his lips to mine. It starts off slow, but it grows more passionate. I move my hands to his face, and our lips move in unison. As things are further escalating, I hear an "mhm." We both quickly pull away, snapping back to reality, and looking around for the sound. My eyes widen like a deer caught in headlights because I see Freya standing there. I turn to Connor while relaxing my eyes and say, "I'll see you later Connor, but...I'm looking forward to it." I smile, and he gives me one back.

He whispers, "Ok." He then walks away from the gazebo, on the opposite side than Freya.I then turn back to her and see her eyebrows raised. "Who's that?" she asks pointedly.

"No one," I say walking by her.

She continues to follow me back into the school, and she asks, "So how did you and Connor meet?"

I turn into a hallway, headed for the cafeteria to eat dinner before tutoring. I abruptly stop and turn around, and Freya almost collides with me. I say, "He's no one, ok?"

She then says with a smile, "I hope he's more than someone because you just had your tongue down his throat-"

"Please, sto-" I say before I'm interrupted by someone behind me.

"You had your tongue down who's throat?" I can instantly recognize Josie voice without even turning.

My eyes widen, and I pull lips together. I look at Freya, and I can tell this wasn't her intention. I say turning around with a smile on my face, "No one, she was making it up."

Josie gives me a "really" look as if she would believe that load of BS. And I give her one right back. She holds her hands up, and says, "Ok, you don't have to tell me." She then walks in the direction to the cafeteria.

I look back to Freya, and say, "Look what you've done. Now Josie is going to tell Lizzie, and Lizzie is going to tell the whole school." Freya just smiles, and I shake my head. "Now I have to go fix this before it blows up." As I walk after Josie, I yell back to Freya, "I can hear you laughing."

I run after Josie through the hallway, and once I see her down the hall in front of the door to the cafeteria. I yell, "Josie, wait." I see Josie with a knowing smile. She stops in front of the door. Once I reach, I beg, "Please don't tell Lizzie, we both know that she'll tell the whole school."Josie smiles, and I put on my best puppy dog face. So she says, "Fine, I won't tell anyone..." I let a sigh, letting my body relax, "But you have to tell me who it was." I look back up at her with my same begging puppy eyes. She sees, and says with a devious smile, "Or I'll tell Lizzie."I roll my eyes thinking she's joking, but when I look back she seems ready for an answer. My eyes widen, "Seriously?"

"Seriously," she answers.

I purse my lips and glare at her, "Fine, it's this guy named Connor. Satisfied?"

I can see she's thinking, and she says confused, "I don't know anyone in your grade that's named Connor, well in any of the upper grades actually." I then see her eyes widen, and she asks shocked, "Is it Connor from Mystic Falls High School?!" I blush, and her mouth drops open and she says, "Lexi Marshall, your dating a guy from Mystic Falls!"

"I hardly count kissing as dating," I say rolling my eyes, Josie just slaps me. "Ow!"

"Your first boyfriend!" Josie practically yells.

I whisper-yell, "Shhh! I hardly say being asked to a dance is dating."

Her eyes widen bigger than I thought they ever could, as her voice practically yelling, "He asked you to a dance!"

"Crap! You aren't supposed to know that." Thinking quickly I add with a stern voice, "And now that you know this, you can't tell Lizzie." She makes her lips sealed with her fingers, and I smile,

"Thank you."

"What are cousins for?" she says throwing her arm around me, I just shake my head as we enter the cafeteria.

As I climb into bed, I hear my phone vibrate against my wooden bedside table. I flip the covers over me and reach for my phone with my eyes closed. Once I feel the silicone case, I press the power button while bringing it to me. The screen reveals a text from Connor. I smile, it says, "Just wanted to let you know the dance is tomorrow night, I hope you have a dress and don't worry about a ride I have it all covered, just meet me in front of your school at 6."

I smile, as I text back, "Great, I'll see you then."

He replies back almost immediately, "Great"

I type, "Good night," but I wait a couple of seconds to send it.

I receive a "Good night," before drifting off to sleep.
