*Mark's P.O.V.*

"Mark, are you ready?" Mom called from downstairs while I looked at myself in the full length mirror carefully, making sure nothing was out of place. I sighed, grabbing my black suit jacket and heading downstairs with my dress shoes in my other hand.

I was so dressed up for a date my seven month old girlfriend and I have been planning for a while now, and we finally got around to doing it, although she didn't look sound very energetic when I called her about it a few hours ago. That didn't let me down so much as today's one of those days where I actually wanted to go out, and we're going to a fancy restaurant where delicious food is going to be involved.

"Do I look good?" I asked mom. She nodded with a smile.

"You look amazing." She said, buttoning up the buttons on my jacket, and her smile left quickly. "Sweetheart," the tone in her voice dropped while she glared at me. Oh no...

"Are you sure you want to continue this relationship with Lucy?" There it is. As much as I tried to avoid this question, it popped up once again, and now I have to be careful with my words so I don't look like a bad man.

To be honest, the spark between Lucy and I has faded a long time ago and now I feel she's only with me for the money. Literally last week when I called to ask if she wanted to see a movie with me, I heard both a male groan and her moan when she picked up. I kept my cool, acting like I didn't hear anything, but now I've had enough. Tonight's the night where I'm cutting her off.

"...no, not really." I hesitated to reply, scared that she was going to be against my answer. Mom's facial expression stayed the same, but she raised her eyebrows and her eyes were filled with determination. She wants me to get married as soon as possible and have kids, but with Lucy and how things are going on between us, I postponed her wish by another three years.

"Good, I never really like that bitch." I chocked on my saliva, a coughing fit following after. "I knew exactly when that spark fell, and sensed that you were only with her in hope to find that spark again and make her happy. You pick that up after your dad, you know? Sticking around in hope that something good is going to happen."

"Yeah, apparently I picked up a lot from dad." I chuckled, running my hand through my hair to fix it.

"She only stayed because of your financial success, I'm sure of it. And the fact that she has another man on the side doesn't make the situation any better. So, it's better to cut her off now then later."

"And that's what I plan on doing- wait, excuse me?" Her statement made my eyebrows raise in shock.

"Don't worry about it too much, Mark." Mom laughed evilly with a bright smile, slapping my shoulder. "And tell her off while you're at it, yeah?"

"Mom, you know I can't do such a thing." I put on my shoes and grabbed my car keys from the kitchen counter.

"That's if you don't try, honey. At least tell her I said she can suck my big, wiggly dick as a payback for using my son!" She yelled at me when I was half way out the door. I chuckled, opening and entering my car. A few minutes later, I pulled up into Lucy's driveway and texted her to come outside if she's ready. Five minutes passed and she was no where to be seen. I texted her again, and waited three more minutes and she was still missing. I sighed, getting out of my to go knock on the door.

"Oh, hi Mark." The small Asian girl opened the door, surprised while she was munching on a bag of chips, a bottle of red wine in the other. She didn't look ready for our date. Dressed in sweatpants with little to no effort on her hair, it's like she forgot that we had something planned. I mentally facepalmed, asking myself why I even bothered in the first place. This is just a waste of my time.

"Are you ready?" I asked, still keeping my patience in line. It was too early in the night for me to start losing my shit. I remained calm while a dumbfounded look stayed on the dark brown haired girl's face. Why do I even bother? I spoke to myself as her messy bobbed hair irritated me. My eye twitched, and I looked away.

"Ready for...?" She continued to eat her chips.

"Our date? The one we've planned for about a week now." As if something legit clicked in her head, her facial expression changed and she nodded.

"Oh, I remember now. Let me go get dressed." I exhaled deeply, seeing how she's going to take forever to get dressed, and she didn't even invite me into her house, but I entered anyways. I sat on one of the highchairs that surrounded the island inside the kitchen, pulling out my phone to distract me from what I put myself through.

All of a sudden, footsteps came from the living room across the kitchen. A big and buff, shirtless man appeared with a towel wrapped around his waist. Ripped from head to toe, the man with blond hair and blue eyes looked at me weird, and I did the same.

"Uh, hi?" I started.

"Who are you?" He instantly jumped into the questions.

"Lucy's boyfriend." He looked shocked by my words, which made me furrow my eyebrows. "You?" He hesitated when replying.

"Lucy's brother." He started to speed walk out the living room and continued upstairs.

"Lucy doesn't have a bro-"

"Well, now she does!"

After an hour or so, Lucy came back downstairs, and it's like nothing changed. The only thing she did with her appearance was replace her sweatpants for jeans. She stayed with the same dirty sweatshirt and her messy hair wasn't touched on. She didn't even wash her face or brush her teeth, I was wondering if this was the same woman I fell in love with seven months ago. The Asian girl had yet a different bag of chips and she ate like a slob, spilling chips everywhere.

"Are you ready?" I asked in a panic tone, placing my phone in my pocket. I was worrying as that restaurant gives away your seats if you don't show up on time, and seeing how we're one hour late, I was thinking of canceling everything right then and there. Lucy shrugged her shoulders, putting on dirty running shoes and walking out into the car. Relax big boy, you can't get mad at her...at least not yet.

We arrived at the restaurant a little while later, going up the the receptionist for our table. Our contradicting outfits made the woman look at us weird, but she paid no attention to it and lead us to our table.

"If you guys were another minute late, we would have gave up your table." She laughed at set menus in front of us. Lucy looked down at the thick book confused, and I pushed my tongue to the side of my cheek, tapping my foot in an attempt to keep my cool. What doesn't she like now?
