*(Y/N)'s P.O.V.*
"This just in," the news reporter on the T.V. started to speak while a red block at the bottom of the screen read breaking news. I looked up from my phone and pulled my teacup away from my lips and eyed the screen very carefully. It was my day off, but I still had a lot of work that needed to be done, but it's important to know what's happening in your neighbourhood, right?
"Police are looking for a 26-year-old missing woman by the name of Sooyoung Kim, who is 171 centimetres with dark hair and eyes. Ms. Kim was last seen at her workplace building at 2776 Wilding Street, waiting for a bus heading southbound. Officials are urging the public to call 911 if they have any information about the disappearance of Sooyoung Kim." And that was all the news reporter said before the show cut to commercial break. I finished my tea and placed the cup to the side, taking in the information that was given to me. I smirked, getting up from my seat and stretching.
"So he went to the police anyway..." I mumbled to myself, seeing how Mark completely disregarded my warning about going to the police station. We talked about clearly over the phone, but he still went ahead and filed a missing person report. He did call my phone earlier multiple times, but it wasn't like I was going to give him the answer then and there like it cake. A little challenge never killed anyone, but everything now changes since he's getting help from officials. The game becomes unfair, which then makes the game not fun enough to play.
"Oh well..." I took my cup to the kitchen and washed it before getting another pair of white gloves and my black apron. Before I could worry about the news, I had to tend to the dead body that was downstairs. I was too tired to dispose of it all at once a few days ago, but now I have to get going.
Walking downstairs all suited up, I opened the door to the familiar, cold room but something was slightly off today. Oddly, the room felt empty. The only thing that hasn't changed was Lucas, who still hasn't moved from the mat that I threw him on a few days go. "That's weird.." I thought out loud, looking for the girl that was once tied up to the chair. My eyes wandered around the room and soon landed on a black duffel bag in the center of the room which was spewing out blood.
"Oh, there you are Sooyoung!" I said happily as the corners of my lips pulled upwards, grinning at the bag that held the girl's remains after I chopped her up. "I was looking for you everywhere!" I ran towards the bag, bending over to grab the straps with glee. Shortly after, I pouted out my lips, planning out a way to get the bloody bag out of here without making a big mess. It wasn't long until I found a solution, and soon, I brought the clean duffel bag upstairs.
Before leaving the house, I put on a black medical mask, replaced my white gloves and put on some combat boots, grabbing the bag and leaving the house as if I was going to work. I walked to the back of my townhouse, into an alleyway where a bunch of bad kids hang out at night. They always bring their dirt bikes and skateboards around here and place their cigarette butts in the shallow red bin that was leaned against the wall. The paint was almost completely wiped off, and surrounding the bin was a bunch of unknown substances which disgusted me.
"Ew..." I murmured, throwing the duffel bag inside the red bin with some dead twigs found across the bin. I took out my lighter, lighting a piece of wood and throwing it inside the bin, which quickly put the bag with Sooyoung's remains inside on fire. I sighed with a smile, waving goodbye as the fire kept me warm momentarily. Burning garbage, especially in a tight alleyway like this was illegal, but this was an abandoned place anyways - no one else but the residents of the townhouses here come in and out this alley. "But that shouldn't matter, should it?" I chuckled, pulling out my phone and waiting for the trash to burn fully so that even if the slightest inconvenience happens, there will be no evidence.
--
I came home soon after the trash inside the red bin slowly started to get smaller and smaller. Black smoke never stopped building up in the alleyway, and I left before the smell of burning human skin stuck onto my clothes and apron. After all, I take pride in my gear. The clothes are the thing that makes me, me. And no matter what, I will not let my black apron become dirty.
Speaking of my apron, I took the black piece of clothing off alongside my mask and walked inside the living room. As if the news didn't change at all, the female news reporter was still talking about Sooyoung. They kept on repeating the same information, on her physical appearance and where she was last seen, and it was starting to irritate me. It was like that was the only thing they could talk about right now, and frankly, I wasn't here for it.
"She's dead, okay?" I placed my hand on my hip, tilting my head to the side with furrowed eyebrows. Even the face of the news reporter started to anger me, with her shitty makeup and her shitty voice, maybe she should have been the one I stabbed instead of Sooyoung. "I confess - I tortured her, I killed her and I burnt her body. Can you stop talking about her now?" I sighed, running my hand through my (H/C) hair. I found it funny about how much coverage was going on in this case. Even when children are abducted, they don't talk about it this much like they're doing with Sooyoung's case. It's like they-
"This just in, the belongings of Sooyoung Kim have been scouted by police in a nearby bush from the spot where was last seen. Her phone, wallet and handbag were allegedly thrown away by her abductor, and now investigators believe this will help track Kim." The news reporter spoke quickly with a fierce tone, acting like her life depended on it. Meanwhile, I bit my bottom lip, cursing myself out as my carelessness got the best of me. Had I relaxed that night and not act so savagely, I would have disposed of her things responsibility, but it's too late now, isn't it?
But thinking about it again, I'm now realizing that this isn't Sooyoung. She isn't at fault here. Her fate wasn't caused by her actions, rather the actions of someone she's been working closely with. Had he kept his lips shut for a few more days, all of this would have gone by smoothly but Mark wanted to act all cute and tell the police.
"Oh well. I did say actions have consequences." I thought out loud, going over to my work back to check if my switchblade was there. I decided to check downstairs, where I did find it, and I also put Lucas back in his seat. Before leaving the house, I kissed his tear-stained cheek, chuckling while I made my pursuit to Mark's mom's house.
