The next day Twila and Lance decided to go out and explore together. Lance said he felt a storm coming but Twila just brushed it off. After about an hour or so of walking around, it started to pour down rain. They had no idea of the direction of home was because of the rain.
"Aww come on, stupid rain." Twila said in disappointment.
"Don't say I didn't tell you, because I did." Lance said annoyed
"S-shut Lance! Your a vampire can you find the way back or something."
"Yeah I'm a vampire not a map."
"Obviously, a map is way more useful." Twila mumbled to herself.
"Tch, keep that up and I'll leave you." Lance warned
"Y-you wouldn't dare!"
"Try me!"
After a bit more arguing Twila and Lance decided to look for some type of shelter. While Lance could teleport he could only teleport him self, and was pretty sure Twila would kill him if he left her. They had been running for about twenty minutes when they stopped so Twila could catch her breath. When they stopped Twila fell to the ground completely wore out.
"Humans are so weak it's only been like five minutes, how can you already pass out?" Lance said clearly annoyed.
"It's been... twenty some... thing minutes... and, at least... we're not stupid" Twila said exhaustedly.
"Gees, just get on my back it's clear your that your exhausted and you'll be over working yourself if you keep it up, and last time I checked over working your self isn't a good idea. Oh, and one more thing I'm not stupid.
"I'll be fine, its not going to kill me.", Twila said as she stood up.
"Then don't be surprised when I leave you because of the fact that you can't keep up." Lance said as he was about to take off.
"F-fine just don't leave okay" Twila said distressed.
She climbed onto his back and tightened her grip. Soon after Lance took off, running at inhuman speeds. Twila stared in awe as the trees flew by them. About eighteen minutes later Lance had found a run down store, and went inside. Twila had passed out before they got there, so he laid her down, and decided to go off on his own for a bit. By this time the storm had picked up, and trying to find there way back wouldn't of been a good idea.
While Twila was asleep she had a vision like dream. In the dream, Lance wandered off after laying her down, Twila woke soon after and began to search for him. However instead she found something... else, then everything went black. The next thing she knew was that she was in one of the store's isles, the shelves were empty, but they were covered in blood. A silhouette appeared at the other end of the isle, she couldn't scream, or run, all she could do was stand there. After a minute of silence the silhouette broke the slience.
"All hope dies in the end, I wonder how long yours will last."
Twila shot up, with tears in her eyes. The room was spinning, causing Twila to feel sick.
"Hey Twila! You okay?" Lance said as he steadied Twila.
"Lan- lance?" Twila said still a bit dazed.
"Yeah, I'm here."
Twila just sat there crying, she didn't know what to do or say. She thought if she told him he'd just laugh and make fun of her for being scared of a stupid dream.
"Twila, what happened, and are you okay?" Lance said worried.
"I-i... no, you went off... on your own a-and when... I went to l-look for you. Instead of you I f-found... found something's sil...houette and around it was b-blood, lots of blood. I couldn't d-do anything... I felt t-trapped. Then... it t-told me all hope... dies." Twila said as she tried not to choke on her words.
"Shhh, its okay I'm not going anywhere okay, now calm down."
"P-promise?"
"Promise." Lance said as he wiped tears off of her cheek.
They both embraced for a bit, Lance did it to calm her down a bit. While Twila was scared that if she'd let go he would vanish once more. Not long after they let go of each other, did lightning strike, causing Lance to jump.
"Are you scared of lighting?" Twila said amused.
"No! Just s-shut up!" Lance said while a blushing mess.
"Tch, scaredy cat."
After a bit more teasing from Twila, Lance decided to get some sleep. Twila refused to sleep she couldn't not after that dream. Before sleep finally got the best of her, she heard something fall, not thinking to much about it at the time she let sleep overcome her.
