Nick and Demi visited with Erica for about an hour before Mrs. Jonas called and demanded that Nick return home. They said their goodbyes to Erica, who whispered to Nick that he should make a move soon, then the two hopped back into Nick’s mustang and headed back to the Jonas household.

The radio was blasting some new rap song. However, neither Nick or Demi was listening to it. Both were deep in thought. Demi was still contemplating John 3:16 while Nick was thinking of a way to ask Demi out on a date.

"You wanna hang at my house for a bit?" Nick asked.

Demi stopped starring out the window to glance at Nick. “What?” She asked.

"I asked if you wanted to hang at my house for a bit." Nick repeated. "I’ll make sure Joe doesn’t bug you." He joked with a wink.

Demi let out a tiny giggle. “Sure.” She answered and then turned back to face the window.

"Cool." Nick quietly mumbled. The silence filled the vehicle once again. Not knowing that Demi was still trying to figure out why someone would send his only son just for her, Nick thought that she was feeling awkward. He tried thinking of something to talk about, but his mind kept drifting back to asking her out.

Luckily, the song that was just playing on the radio ended and the D.J. mentioned something about the Red Wings game that night. Nick could almost hear the angels singing. This was his chance.

"Red Wings game tonight." Nick casually started.

"Mhm." Demi responded as she nodded.

"Do you…wanna go?" Nick nervously asked.

Demi raised an eyebrow and turned her gaze to Nick. “We’re in the Stanely Cup play-offs. It’s like impossible to get seats.” Nick smirked. “Wait,” Demi lifted her hand to stop Nick from trying to talk. “Let me guess. Because you’re a Jonas, you can get decent seats, right?”

Nick shrugged. “If you call seats directly behind the Wings bench decent…” He said, as if it was no big deal.

Demi’s jaw dropped. “No way.” She said.

Glancing at her, Nick kept the smirk on his face. “Way.” He replied. He turned his head back to the road.

"How?"

"We own those seats."

"Then yes, we’re going!"

Smiling, Nick said, “Alright, but here’s the catch.” Demi prepared herself for the worst. “Joe’s gotta come with us.”

"Why?"

"He called dibs on one ticket for this game." Demi rolled her eyes. "If you want, your friend Erica can come." Nick suggested. "She’ll keep Joe busy." He joked.

Demi laughed at the image of Joe and Erica together that popped into her head. She nodded and replied. “Sounds good.”

"It’s a date." Nick regretted the words once they fell out of his mouth.

Demi blushed and smiled. “It’s a date.” She repeated happily.

"Hey dad," Nick said once he and Demi made it back to his house. Mr. Jonas looked at Nick, waiting for him to continue while Demi walked into the living room to call Erica. "Can I ask you something?"

"Son, you know God wants you to stay pure until marriage-" Nick’s dad started.

Nick quickly cut him off. “I know that dad, but that’s not what I wanted to ask you about.”
