"Nothing against the creepy little cemetery hole on the wall, but you guys do know that there are way nicer places to hide in, right? New Orleans is truly a beautiful city!" Alex said while walking into Kol and Davina's hiding place of choice and swatting away some spiderwebs. Her fear of spiders was irrational but very present.
Kol couldn't help himself but smile upon seeing his niece do something as childish as shying away from a spiderweb. So much for an all-powerful witch. Who would have thought he would have not one, but two nieces. He couldn't believe it himself.
"First of all, we're not hiding, and actually, the nice thing about this place used to be that nobody knew that it existed...." Davina intervened as she crossed her arms. She didn't fully trust the young witch, or any of the other Mikaelsons for that matter, but for some reason, she was willing to listen to Alexandra.
"I won't tell a soul, I promise." The young witch winked at her aunt playfully, not letting her wariness of the Mikaelson family name throw her off her game.
"How did you even know where to find us?" Kol asked.
"Well, you used to tell me stories about how you first met in this city and the cool places I would someday have to visit. This being one of them." Alex said actually taking the time to look around the room. It was littered with interesting looking artifacts as well as pages that appeared to be from grimoires. Typical Kol and Davina.
"It's so weird to hear you talking about us in the future." Davina said.
"Believe me, I know. I have to be extra careful too."
"Why?"
"Because I'm already changing the timeline by being here. My goal is to erase the bad things, but I don't want all of the good things that have happened to you all to change." The brunette explained and she instantly saw how Davina's eyes softened before Kol interrupted them.
"Oh come on! Now I want to know what all of these supposedly good things are!" Kol whined and Davina couldn't help but smile at her husband.
"All in due time, uncle Kol. Believe me, it will be worth it." Alex smiled too, before remembering why she had to see them with such urgency, and by the sudden change in her expression, they had the same change of thoughts. "Klaus, Elijah, Caroline and I are leaving tonight." She stated, and as expected, she could see Davina's shoulders slightly relax.
"When are you coming back?" Kol asked.
"Not anytime soon, at least I don't think so. I have so much to work on with them before we can move on with the rest of the plan." Alex explained calmly, and it was just enough time for Davina to realize something.
"But we're not ready. I mean, we haven't found a cloaking spell that's perfect yet." The brunette witch said with a small frown that Kol found just adorable.
"Ah yes, of course. That's why I'm here actually." Alex smirked.
"Well, we've been looking and have found a couple things that might work..." Davina continued moving to retrieve the pages that they had collected in the past few hours, not noticing the younger girl's expression.
"Oh, don't worry, I already have a spell." Alex said nonchalantly looking towards the ceiling and rocking back and forth on the ball of her feet.
It was now Kol's turn to frown.
"Then why did you ask us to...You needed a distraction." He concluded and Alex just smiled innocently.
"Bingo."
"But why would you do that?! We agreed to help you!" Davina pointed a finger at Alex accusatorially and then crossed her arms. She did not like being used.
"And you will, hopefully." Alex said a little worried upon noticing the angry expression in her aunt's face. But of course, Kol came to save the day.
"THAT'S MY NIECE!" He cheered happily before he started laughing and made the young brunette smile, shocking Davina with his outburst.
"It's not funny!"
"Cheer up darling, she beat us at our own game after all, so she definitely deserves some praise! Well done Alex dear, I wasn't sure that you had it in you."
Alex faked being offended with a gasp. "Harsh!"
Kol just laughed some more and Alex could see Davina become less defensive as the seconds passed.
"Well, now you sure have our attention." Davina said and raised her eyebrows at Alex for her to explain herself.
"Ah, yes dear, what can we do for you?" Kol asked with a small smirk. He loved that finally someone in his family seemed to appreciate his and his wife's talents.
"Well, first...If it makes it any better, you two are far too intelligent and valuable for me to just have you stuck looking for a cloaking spell...I need your help with a far more important project."
"Kiss-ass." Davina muttered under her breath with a small smile of her own, knowing that the girl was using the best strategy she could think of to convince them of helping. It was quite entertaining, and she knew that her husband was loving every second of it.
"And what exactly would that be?" Kol said. He had taken an immediate interest when he connected the dots and realized that it wasn't only an important project she needed help with, but a secret one, which made it feel much more thrilling.
Alex's stance changed completely, and from playful she became completely serious in a span of 0.5 seconds. The small brunette took a deep breath before saying her next words.
"I need you to help me bring Hayley back." Alex declared and looked at the astounded faces of her favorite witch nerds.
