Alexandra had never been happier to lay in her bed, she was exhausted. Driving for over a day and having to keep her guard around her two ridiculously intimidating uncles was no easy feat, yet somehow she had pulled it off.

However, before passing out she knew she had one more thing to sort out.

She fished her phone from her pocket and turned it on, short after feeling the vibrations that indicated a significant amount of notifications coming in. She had one goal in mind though, so she ignored the rest of the notifications and dialed a number she knew by heart.

"Explain yourself!" She heard her mother's voice and closed her eyes, knowing by her tone that she was beyond pissed off.

"Hi mom."

"Oh no young lady! Don't you dare 'hi mom' me! You were supposed to be at the safe house Marcel found for you!" Rebekah scolded her daughter.

"Yes, I had to change our destination suddenly, I must have forgotten to tell you, I'm sorry." The girl apologized while running a hand through her hair.

"Forgotten to tell me? Alexandra you've had your phone off for over a day!!"

"Okay, okay, you're right. But I have a good reason!" She defended herself.

"You better!"

"Well, I did have to deal with Klaus' complaints for over a day...I needed to focus."

The brunette girl heard how her mother took a deep breath and she could imagine her pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance. Her attempt of a joke had clearly failed.

"Where are you?" She said harshly and Alex could hear the rustling on the other side of the phone, which meant her mother was likely preparing a travel bag.

"Mom..." Alex started while closing her eyes and preparing herself for the upcoming argument. "I think it's better if you-"

"Are you okay?" Rebekah interrupted her daughter, greatly surprising her.

"Yes, we're fine." She said warily.

"Good." Rebekah sighed and then the line was silent for a few moments. "Alex I was so worried."

"I know mom, I'm sorry."

"Ever since you told us about this whole thing going on, I constantly worry that I will lose you."

"I know the feeling." She smiled sadly. "I will fix this mom, I promise."

"We will fix it Alex, together. Now, I'm guessing that you just got to your destination and must be really tired, especially if you did have to listen to Nik complain the whole time...Go get some rest."

"I will." Alex said and looked out her window. "I love you mom." She said solemnly.

"I love you too Alex. Take care, okay?" The blonde vampire sat on her own bed, forgetting the bag she was putting together moments before.

"Always." She said and then they hung up.

Rebekah's heart was aching as it always was when she had to spend time away from her daughter, and her worries were threatening to drown her each minute that passed. Her only consolation was the fact that much as Klaus had once before, she felt that her daughter couldn't be safer than with her two brothers, wherever they were.

Alexandra was quick to change into her pajamas and jump into her soft bed. Moments later she was fast asleep, her mind finally getting a chance to relax...Or so she thought.

Alexandra found herself frowning while trapped in a dark room, it looked almost like an interrogation room. There was a door that Alex didn't even try opening, for she knew it would be locked, and a window with darkened glass. She could only wonder who was on the other side.

"Welcome back Alexandra dear." She heard a voice that chilled her to the bone. The brunette started looking all around her but couldn't see anyone, she could however, hear someone laughing at her. "Don't bother, you won't be able to see me. I can see you though, and you look as pretty as your mother, although I must say now a days she's looking rather rough." The voice continued mockingly.

"Leave my mother alone." Alexandra finally reacted. She knew it had to be a dream spell, but the fact that they had managed to communicate with her when she was in the past put her on high alert.

"Don't you worry your pretty little head, she's still alive. But you knew that already, didn't you?"

"What the hell do you want?" She said ignoring the question.

"Just to let you know that we're coming for you, Alex dear. It's time you come home."

It was then that Alexandra realized something, and she felt like hitting herself for not having noticed it before.

"You don't know where I am." She said and the silence that followed made her understand she was right. "You have no idea."

She did not get a reply from the same voice, but instead heard her mother screaming. It was a dream spell, and she knew she had to break it fast so they wouldn't be able to track her through her magic. The world shifted around her and then it was all black, she could see nothing but her mother's screams were getting louder and louder.

"Mom?! Mom, where are you???" Alex started yelling, forgetting for a moment what she needed to do, letting her fear that Rebekah was being harmed overpower her other senses.

The louder screams got, the less Alexandra could concentrate, until for a moment she managed to close her eyes and remember her mother's smiling face right before they had left the Mikaelson compound, what her voice sounded like on that phone call they were on before she went to bed, finally distinguishing what was real from what was not.

With a final yell of "MOM!" Alexandra opened her eyes. She was breathing heavy and was startled to see a set of eyes hovering above her own.

"You were frowning while repeatedly mumbling your mother's name...Bad dream I assume?" Klaus asked and walked away from her bed.

"You didn't think waking me up would be a good idea?" The brunette frowned at her uncle.

"I have learned not to mess with a teenage girl's sleeping habits." He said nonchalantly and Alex appreciated that he was not being all moody and sarcastic at the moment, she was shaken up enough as it was.

"Whatever." She said running a hand through her hair. "What time is it?"

"I believe it's a little after seven in the morning. Why?"

"We need to get Caroline and Elijah." Alex said throwing her covers aside and starting to walk towards her bathroom/dresser.

"And again I must ask: why?" Klaus said, he hated repeating himself but kept remembering Caroline's words to give the girl a chance.

"We have a problem." Alex started solemnly and Klaus face immediately darkened.
