"Did Pug-face just wave over here?" Ron asked, glaring at the group of Slytherins.

"Don't call her that, Ron!" Ginny exclaimed.

This caught both Harry and Ron off guard, and the two of them looked at each other before giving the girls confused looks.

"The last time I checked, you hated her as well," Ron said slowly to Ginny.

"She's become much nicer now," Hermione said. "They all have."

Ron scoffed but Harry raised an eyebrow at her as he asked, "Have you been hanging out with them, Hermione?"

"As a matter of fact, we have," Ginny answered instead. "We actually have a few classes with them and they each took the time to apologize to us at the beginning of the year."

"Why do I find it hard to believe that?" Ron asked.

"Because you see the world as black and white, and are absolutely incapable of believing that people change who they are," Ginny retorted. "People are different now, a lot of things have changed here."

"Things couldn't have changed that much," Ron said dramatically. "They're still Slytherins."

"You're just not here to see all of it," Hermione said then. "You're off at Auror training, of course you're not going to see how much things have changed."

He didn't answer, simply looking at her. She shook her head and took a drink of her butterbeer as Harry asked, "Well, other than that how are things going?"

He was mainly looking at Ginny when he asked this and she shrugged, avoiding his eyes. "Things are fine."

Harry finished his drink and then looked over at Hermione and Ron before asking, "Can you two go get us another round?"

Ron nodded and got up, quickly pulling Hermione away before she could protest and leaving Harry and Ginny alone at the table. Ginny scowled at him and said, "You know, if you came here to talk to me you could've just sent a letter."

"I wanted to see you in person," He said quietly. "Why did you break things off?"

"Harry..." She trailed off and looked down at the table, shifting in her seat. "It was obvious we were drifting apart. You needed to focus on your Auror training and I felt guilty for what happened and didn't want that taking up your focus."

"Breaking up with me still kind of threw me off," He scoffed.

"Well what do you want me to say?" She asked in a frustrated tone. "I've apologized multiple times for it, and it was just a kiss!"

"Yeah, a kiss that you felt guilty enough about to break things off!" He countered. "I didn't want to break up, I wanted to move past it and just couldn't focus on that at the time."

"You left me hanging, saying that you needed to think about what you wanted to do and that wasn't fair to me," She said. "I didn't want to be left not knowing what we were, and I didn't hear from you for nearly two months. Even after I sent the letter breaking it off, I didn't hear from you!"

"I told you, I was busy with training," He said.

She sighed and ran a hand through her hair in frustration.

Ron looked over at Hermione and smiled. "It's good to see you again."

"It's definitely been a while," She said, shifting slightly. She wasn't sure why she felt nervous around him, but she definitely didn't like it. "Why did Harry ask us to get the butterbeers?"
