Writing Music ( A Zayn Malik love story)

Bree

“If I have to watch one more horrible audition I’m casting myself,” I say to my publisher as she  looks over the list so far.

    “Well I think that will sell the movie well,” the producer says as annoyed as I am. “I can see the headlines now, ‘Secret Author Revealed as the Female Lead.’

    “Hopefully we can find someone otherwise I think that may be the only option.” My publisher says standing up to leave.

    I reach down to grab my bag.

    “I didn’t think you would make it,” I hear the producer say.

    “I’m sorry, I had a little trouble with transportation today,” I hear a familiar voice say out of breath.

    I sit up and standing on the stage is Bree.

    “Who is this?” My publisher asks.

    “This is Aubrey Goodwin,” The producer introduces. Bree gives a nervous half bow. “I had heard her singing when I was visiting our sound engineer and I invited her to audition.”

    I feel the color drain from my face as I notice Bree looking around, I can’t tell if she has noticed me.

    “Whenever you are ready Ms. Goodwin,” My publisher says as she sits back down.

    One of the interns hands Bree a script and I notice her look quickly at me before she glances at the script.

"Could I have a moment to speak with you before we start with the audition" I say to my publisher. The two of us go out into the hall while Bree reads the script.

"Is there something wrong Carla?" My publisher asks as soon as the door closes.

"I know that we agreed that I would have final say in who is cast for the movie but I don't think that I can do that right now." I say a bit worried.

"You have not had any problem with the others today even the most horrible. Why now?" She asks a little bit concerned.

"I can't be a judge because she is my friend," I say quickly.

"Well if you don't want the audition to continue we can stop it right now,' She says offering to end it.

I take a moment to think, I know that it may seem like I got her the audition because I know her but to be honest I'm just as surprised to see her. But I don't want to take away her chance to be in the movie if she belongs there.

"She should have an audition but I'm going to let you and the others decide, I don't think that I will be able to" I say honestly.

    We go back inside and start the audition. At the end of the audition I say goodbye to everyone and catch up to Bree in the hallway.

    “Do you need a ride?” I ask walking beside her.

    “Yeah, actually I was going to call to see if I could sleepover,” She says as we walk outside.

    “You don’t have to ask, after all we are going to be roomies in a couple of weeks,” I say climbing into the automobile. “Do you need me to stop by the hotel to get some pjs?”

    “I’m kinda not allowed at the hotel anymore.”

    “Did you and Paige get into a fight?”

    “No but I wish that was what happened. I got in an argument with the manager and he banned me from the hotel. Paige and Maylee are away at a spa.”

    “I guess that I can let you borrow some of my clothes as long as I can borrow some of yours when we move into the apartment.”

    “Deal. Speaking of clothes I thought you were working today. Or are you in charge of the wardrobe department for the movie?” She asks.
