Eleven years passed since Alaric first read the letter, unable to find his niece no matter how hard he tried. As time passed and the twins grew older, they were told about the existence of this girl, and they were told about the plan Alaric and Caroline had. Neither of them were happy about it, as they knew what Kai had tried to do, and what he did.
They thought bringing the girl to the Salvatore Boarding School was an awful idea, yet Josie could see part of the reason why her parents had decided so. After all, Hope was the daughter of none other than Klaus Mikaelson, and she was as bad as anyone else could be. Lizzie however was strongly opposed to it, even if she was far closer to Hope, as she was sure the girl was just as bad as Kai, and would try to kill them. Lizzie thought Rosalyn was just as her father, and probably had a mother just as bad as Kai was. Getting her there was just the worst idea someone could've had.

Despite Lizzie's strong protests, the Saltzman family didn't have to worry about the potential consequences of the plan, as they didn't find any clue that could lead them to the girl. It seemed like the girl didn't even have exist, as they searched all through Mystic Falls and nearby towns, yet there was nothing.
All they knew was that she would have to be around sixteen years old, and her magic was untamed. While they waited and waited for her magic to lead them to her, they never found her.

However, things are wouldn't stay that way forever, as fate had other plans, and one can only outrun fate for so long.

That day, Alaric and Hope had to go to New York for two supernatural beings. They weren't sure what were they against, so they had prepared for everything. They didn't like to fight anyone, but there were cases where they needed it, and they couldn't do anything against it.
In New York, one of the targets was cleaning in a cafeteria. Rosalyn was allowed to clean it up for a couple bills while no one was there, as the owner was her mother's boyfriend. She had only an hour for it, yet she could control her magic enough to use it to clean it.

She was cleaning the counter when Alaric and Hope got to her, getting inside the cafeteria. The black-haired girl looked at the open sign, sighing as she realized she didn't put it on closed, knowing that she would have to do the work.
As they sat in front of her, Rosalyn prayed they wouldn't ask for something too complicated, even if they looked like the type they'd be happy with the strongest coffee they could have.

“Are you alone?” the blue-eyed girl asked, making Rosalyn tense.

That was definitely not a request, and the fact that the first few words were those got Rosalyn on high alert.

“Why do you care?” Rosalyn started to try to find somewhere to syphon from, ready to fight with magic if needed.

With New York being so big, many supernatural beings went to the cafeteria anonymously, but left enough power for Rosalyn to syphon. The only problem was that only places available to the public would have that power, and they were there to see her.
