The ride back to the Salvatore School was complicated

The ride back to the Salvatore School was complicated. It was awkwardly silent, and everyone had her mind in something different. As the van had more people than seats, there were some people sitting in someone else's lap. Penelope was on Rosalyn's lap, Jasmine was sitting under Josie, and everyone agreed on knocking out Carter and carry him on the trunk.
Alaric had tried to convince them to let him go in the car as everyone, but the teenagers didn't feel the slightest compassion for him.

After an hour of driving, the car got inside of the school, and everyone got ready for what was coming next: Getting Carter expelled, and taking care of Rosalyn.
The syphoner went into her bedroom as fast as she could, and everyone was ready to follow her, but Lizzie stopped them before someone could do anything.

-I'll go, I know how to calm her down.

Everyone tried to protest, but Alaric didn't. He knew that, if there was someone who could understand how Rosalyn was feeling, that was Lizzie. After all, he was there every time her daughter had a breakdown, and he saw how bad she would take them.

-Lizzie can handle it. We are going to take care of Carter.

The mention of the werewolf did certainly change the mood in the group. But the man wasn't sure if it was for the best.

The blonde twin walked to Rosalyn's bedroom after that. It wasn't too far away from the stairs, so Lizzie got there not even five minutes after her cousin got inside.
The blue-eyed girl walked into the room without knocking, and she saw the tall girl in her bed, hugging her pillow as she cried. Lizzie sat in her bed and ran her hand through Rosalyn's back, just as her sister did so many times. She waited a little, until the green-eyed girl calmed down a little, and then she spoke.

-Ross, hey, come here, you don't need to do this alone.

Rosalyn slowly got up from her bed, sitting a little, and then she hugged Lizzie. The blonde was caught off guard, but hugged her back.

-You probably have the proof you needed to see that I'm just like my father -the older girl tried to joke.

And that was when Lizzie felt really bad for what she had done to her cousin for months. Even if the blonde knew that it wasn't completely her fault that Rosalyn felt that way, because she knew that her cousin had self-esteem issues, she helped to create that feeling. And she knew it all too well, she had felt that she was going to be the next Kai Parker, and maybe it was because she decided to throw all her insecurities to her cousin.

-I don't, I could never do it. I was dumb, and insecure, but you were never like your father. You fight every day against being like your father, and it makes you a great girl. You're not broken, you're flawed, yes, but everyone has flaws. Even those you think are perfect. We the Saltzman family are a family of strong syphoners, so never doubt about yourself.
