More than your father's daughter
"Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherized upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets"
Rosalyn read the words from the book as they pierced her heart like bullets.
She had been like that all day, still remembering what happened last night. She hated the fact that she went to speak with Penelope. She could have stayed with Carter, but she went to speak with her, as she knew she would do.
Now, in her room, all she could do is think about the good times she had with her ex-friend, and read the only good thing her father left her.
Kai Parker had been bad, and Rosalyn knew it, but she also knew that, behind the madness, it was some wisdom.
Like that one time when he told her that she shouldn't find love, she should find allies, people who would literally die for her, but never fall in love. When she was a kid, it didn't make sense. It didn't make sense until she fell in love and had her heartbroken, but now that she was reading the same poem for the hundredth time, it somehow made sense.Somehow, the thought about she might end up being as his father scared her, but then she thought in Hope. In the months she had been there, Hope became a great friend to the green-eyed girl, and she even started to admire her. Hope Mikaelson, daughter of the great evil Niklaus Mikaelson, daughter of an original vampire, descendant of The Hollow, she had all her odds against her, but somehow she defeated those odds. She secretly wanted to be like that, not just the daughter of the sociopath Kai Parker, she wanted to be better than him, she didn't want to be his legacy.
The green-eyed girl heard the door getting opened, and she closed her book and looked at the one in the door frame. It was Jasmine, again, checking on her.
-The first three hours of silent sadness were okay, but now I'll get you out of that state no matter what I have to do.
-I am okay, I'm just... Homesick. I haven't been this far away from home that much, and with the spring break a little away, I miss my mom -Rosalyn lied, not even trying to make it believable.
-Alright, you're not even trying to lie, you're getting worse than before. -The ginger girl admitted worryingly- Why are you worse than before? You seemed to be slightly fine before.
The green-eyed girl sighed, leaving the book in her nightstand, and motioned to the shorter girl to sit. Jasmine did it, and then Rosalyn sat against the headboard.
