Penelope didn't know what to expect after hearing Josie speak those words. One thing was sure, and it was that the hazel-eyed girl was terrified. After all, the Saltzman twin wasn't one to speak so seriously, and neither was one to remain quiet the whole walk to her bedroom.
The shorter girl had been there a lot of times, and everything was just the same as it had been the last time she was there. And that time was yesterday, so, seeing everything in place gave her some sort of comfort.
Penelope waited for Josie to speak, but she didn't, she just sat there, looking at her hands, thinking about how to express what she was feeling.

-I am jealous.

Even though it wasn't everything she wanted to say, it was all she could say at first, and Penelope quickly caught the idea of where that was heading. It was obvious that it would happen, she wasn't really hiding her feelings for Rosalyn. And maybe she was treating Josie in the way she should treat her cousin.
But feelings are feelings, and even though it hurts to get them out in that way, now the cat was out of the bag, and it would be easier to speak about it. But, how she could tell Josie, her girlfriend, the girl who was in love with her, that her feelings are not returned? She knew that she would have to do it eventually if she wanted to be with Rosalyn.
Josie seemed to sense that Penelope wanted to speak, so she stopped her before the witch could say something.

-I need you to be honest with me, okay? I'm not going to get mad -Penelope raised an eyebrow at it- Okay, maybe a little, but because you haven't been honest with me first.

Penelope sighed, then she sat next to her. She wasn't anywhere near to ready to speak about her feelings, and even less prepared for what it was bound to happen, but she had to do it, she had to be honest with her.

-I will, I promise.

-Are you in love with Rosalyn?

Silence reigned in the room for a few moments. Josie knew better than to rush her, so she patiently waited for the answer.

Penelope was thinking about it. Yes, she had told Rosalyn that she loved her once, but it wasn't under the best circumstances. They were fighting, and neither of them had said anything about it after they became friends. Now that she was thinking clearly... Did she mean that?

-Yes, I am.

-Then why are you with me? Why did you give me another chance? -Josie asked, both hurt and confused-

-At first, when you asked, I was confused. I thought that I liked her because she reminded me in some way of you. I thought that now that I had another chance with you, my feelings would get clearer and I would see her as a friend. -she started to explain, not wanting to explain what she felt over the past months with Rosalyn- and, I don't know, then I knew that Rosalyn was with Carter, and I felt that I had lost the chance with her, and I tried to be a better girlfriend with you.
