I opened my eyes to a blurry view of a gray sky.
Eventually, after laying there and soaking in exhaustion for about half-an-hour, I got up slowly, since my vision had also restored.
I looked around, all to see a path and a pine forest.
Considering the situation, I chose the very hard choice out of many possibilities and actions different people definitely would have chose...
I followed the path.
As I walked I slowly noticed more things I swore were different, but I could still be dazed.
The floor was doused in dead pine leaves.
Are they even considered leaves? Pine needles.
The path didn't seem to end.
Dead, dry branches seemed to appear more and more as I continued, and then I saw it.
Living Trees.
But that isn't too exciting.
The floor still doused in dead pine needles, but there are no more branches.
Then I saw a town in the distance. The breeze buzzed in my ears. How? The leaves- oh yeah.
I don't think pine trees rustle. Idiot, I thought.
The wind blew like sea breeze, but it smelled of pine. I thought this strange.
As I walked in slowly, I began to feel more refreshed, energetic.
This place looked familiar, nostalgic, even.
I took a deep breath, and I smiled. The air was so fresh, Was this place uninhabited?
That's when I realized...
I'm starving!
I walked into the nearest home, and there was a bowl of fresh fruit and, surprisingly, a young, maybe 13-year-old male.
I grabbed an apple and said, "Hello? Can I Have this? Please?"
In general, they were remarkably familiar.
"Why, of course Dawn!" said the boy.
I took a bite, and said, "My name is Jay."
He looked at me oddly.
"Now, you are Dawn."
I always wanted to change my name to Dawn when I was older.
"I'm... well, I'm whoever you want me to be!" said the boy.
"Uh.. you choose."
"No, this is your choice."
"No, what's your name?"
He looked concerned.
"Um, I'm sorry, but where in the world are we?" I said.
"Aerpei Town."
"RPTown?"
"Yup, Aerpei Town"
I didn't know what to do.
"How about we go and meet some townsfolk? I think you'll like them." Said the boy.
"Sure," I said, "But only if you tell me your name first!" I said as I subconsciously finished the apple.
"Call me Halo."
It's only then I realized the two, curved, yellow, glass cylinders floating over his head.
Like a halo snapped in two.
