Turns out Halo woke me up.
"I heard you making strange struggling noises, and I couldn't take it anymore."
He said.
What happened?
What went on in there?
Is that significant to anything?
I tried to shake it off.
"Um... I don't know what you mean." I told him.
He reluctantly agreed, and he started cooking breakfast. He was cooking toast, scrambled eggs and some bacon.
"You know," I started, "you really don't have to cook all this for me."
"Yeah." He said. "But I want to."
"Oh..." I thought. "Why?"
"Because your my guest. And I care about you."
I accepted this answer, and we ate breakfast. Eventually, I brought up the Darkened thing.
"So... I'm a Darkened, right?"
He seemed to freeze for a second.
"Yes, and no. You... It's as if you were born from a darkened and lightened couple."
I took this into consideration. I knew none of this made actual sense, and that this all was fake. But it very well seemed real at this point, so much that I wanted it to be real.
So I had to lie to myself.
"That makes sense..." I said.
"Well, with your power to control the Darkened forces, we should be able to-"
I interrupted him.
"I don't want to go on some journey. It doesn't seem like fun. I want to stay in this great town."
He looked sad. "We can't just ignore Israel's orders."
"Well I am." I stated firmly.
He looked at his food. "Maybe that isn't such a good idea..."
"Why not?" I asked.
"He... um... doesn't like people who don't listen to him... very much..." He said quietly.
"And so what if he doesn't like me?"
"He executes those who he doesn't like." He said nervously.
"So he's a tyrant?"
"What? No! He's a great lead-"
"He's a tyrant."
"Well... I mean-"
"If you ask me, if anyone should be the leader, it's you."
"R-really?"
"Yeah, you are kind and reasonable."
"Well..." He said, blushing at this point.
"Listen. We need to get rid of Israel."
"You know what..." He said, "I think we do."
He said this with a smirk, and looking at me.We gathered a meeting at the town hall without Israel.
"Dawn makes a really good point." Said Gwen, who was literally 8 and had a sword equipped on her back.
She had long dirty-blond hair, and looked very similar to Halo, but a girl and a lot younger. Her eyes were almost pink. In case you didn't get the hint, I'm pretty wire they're related.
Then there's James.
He's 13, just like us, but he has blonde hair and his blue eyes seemed to glow. He was also brighter skinned. He had freckles and dimples when he smiled.
And there's Rebecca. She's 13 too, a redhead and has a few freckles sprinkled across her face. Her hair was curled, and didn't go down too far. She seemed like a nice person, but she didn't talk much. Probably because she wasn't sitting next to any girls. Trust me, I know girls.
And then there's Matthew.
Matthew is 11-12, because we only know he was born in August, and that's the season everyone here is in.
He had relatively short dark brown hair,
and he looked very familiar to me. He is also light skinned. Along with most people, not many people here are colored. He seemed kinda childish. His eyes were brown,
And Dominic, who was the older brother of Matthew. He is 14, and also had dark brown hair. He looked like a more mature, freckled version of Matthew. Taller than him.
And finally, Angel.
Angel was somewhat light skinned, you can see a small amount of Latino in her.
Her eyes were black to what I could see. She wore darker clothes. She was also 13. I'm planning to ask what's up with the 13 thing. Her hair was black and she always smiled at everyone. But I could see right through the facade. She wasn't very happy.
"Yeah," Said Liam, "I'm tired of this."
Liam was rather tall with some freckles, and he was also light skinned. He had blond hair and his eyes were blue. He seemed like a nice guy. He was almost 14.
"Halo," Asked Gwen, "If we're betraying Israel, who will be the leader?"
Halo smiled at me. "Well, Dawn, of course!"
Everyone, including me, was very surprised.
Suddenly, everyone began to talk about it should be them, except me, Angel, Halo and Gwen.
"Enough!" I yelled.
Everyone looked at me. I began to get nervous.
"Um... Stop fighting. We should h-have a vote."
After a couple seconds, James said, "She's right."Matthew passed out papers and pencils to everyone.
I voted for Halo.
Halo voted for me.
Gwen voted for Angel.
James voted for James,
Matthew voted for Matthew.
You know where this is going, huh?
Dominic voted for Dominic.
Rebecca voted for Rebecca.
Liam voted for Liam.
And Angel
Voted for me.
So I was the leader.
Huh.
"This is unfair!" Shouted Matthew.
"And that's why you're not leader." Dominic declared.
"Listen, the votes are over, and since all of you voted for YOURSELVES," Angel said, rather disappointed, "I think Dawn deserves it."
"Hmph." Grumbled Rebecca.
"Okay, that's it." I said. "You all better calm down or none of you will EVER get a chance to be the leader, And I'LL MAKE SU-"
There was a banging of a door.
And the sound of an Israel.
