The Dragon Blood Tree

You were in a very hot climate, your surroundings appeared to be nothing but sand for miles. You were in the desert. But where exactly?

You looked to Bill and asked, "Where are we at?"

"We are in Western Asia close to the Arabian Sea, Yemen. To be exact." Bill told you.

"Okay, so we are in a desert. What am I getting here?" You looked over to Bill. You were actually starting to sweat to the heat. And you were not in an appropriate outfit for being in the desert.

"The Dragon Blood Tree sap" He snapped his fingers and a jar and a spout appeared. You grabbed the items. You looked around the area for the tree. You notice directly behind you there were these tall trees, there branches all seemed to be towards the top.

You ran to the trees. Look up at them you broke a branch off and saw what looked like blood drip from the branch. "Is this the sap?" You questioned looking to Bill

"It sure is!" He exclaimed.

"You wouldn't happen to have a axe would you?" You asked Bill, he snapped his finger and an axe appeared. "If it was this easy why in the world would you not do it yourself?" You questioned Bill.

He laughed at your question "I can't do anything in this world. I am simply just a trick in your mind" You look at him strangely, "So I am insane?" You say with your mouth hung open staring at him, bewildered.

He laughed again. "Of course not, at least not yet" He winked to you. At which you responded with a cringe.

You brought the axe up and swung it to the tree. The axe barely had a chip in it. You sighed exhausted already, this heat was unbearable. When you noticed the small dent you made in the tree you yelled out "This is not going to take ten minutes!"

Bill laughed at you again holding his chest "Trust me kid, these trees bleed easily. You can't give up this soon"

You were furiase. You wanted a chill day without this demon. But when could you get what you wanted. You took an angry swing towards the tree, causing a large chip into the tree. It started to bleed some blood. You stared at it, astonished. You also felt less enraged. You quickly grabbed the jar to collect the sap.

"I got it!" You exclaimed holding the jar in the air. It was fairly full. "Now take me back I can't stand the heat here.

"As you wish" Bill says as he bows down he looks up to you with his one eye and snaps. Putting you back into the mall where you had left.

You checked the time 12:55 pm. You nearly panicked. You check your texts. You had 67+ messages from your friends. You texted the group chat apologizing saying you got caught up with something at the mall and you would be on your way.

You turned around and into the bathroom to check your appearance. You looked the same as you did when you walked in. You were not sweating anymore, your hair was not frizzed up, your hands did not have any marks from the axe, your outfit didn't even have a grain of sand on it. You ignored this fact and ran out. Bill was following behind you. You quickly ran to meet your friends, dodging around people left and right.

"So much for being 10 minutes Bill!" You yell to the demon as you ran to the escalator to head down. "I am so late, and now I'm going to have to think of an amazing lie to get out of their questions"

"You should have been faster, instead of taking your time." Bill said crossing his arms smiling at you panicking, finding amusement in it.

Before you could respond to him your friends spotted you waving you over. You approached them, "Sorry guys, I ran into somebody and decided to catch up with them, then I lost time" You say scratching the back of your neck with a nervous smile across your face.

"It's okay, we just wish you did not take so long" Your friend Hana responded to you. Behind her your friend Cat and Joshua were talking.

They need to get together already

Your friend Taylor was sitting next to Hana looking at her phone.

"I really am sorry about taking long" You say with a sad face. You ran a finger down your cheek like it was a tear. "What's the first plan on the agenda?" You ask trying to get started with the day.

"I'm not sure, maybe we could just walk around into some shops." Hana shrugged. "We are going to see a movie at 5:00 so we have a lot of time."

That's when Taylor spoke up, "I know what to do! Let's go play some mini-golf! There is a new place that opened up in the mall!"

"That actually sounds very fun" You respond.

"Yeah sure lets do it" Hana says and looks back to Cat and Joshua. "You guys coming? We are going to play some mini-golf"

They both agree to come and we all head that way. On the way there you and Hana had your own conversation while the others were goofing around like buffoons behind you two.

"So what's been with you lately. You have been very, quiet." She says.

You look over at her, they don't believe your "I've just been stressed with school work" story anymore. They know it's not true, you would usually except their help when you needed it at school. But when you said that you never needed it, that raised flags for them.

You look up to the floating demon next to you for help. He just responded "Just tell her you are working on a super secret side project"

You look at him with the 'you've got to be kidding me' face. "She will ask what it is" you mutter to him.

"What was that?" Hana looked over to you, not quite hearing what you had said.

"I said, it's nothing of importance anymore. I had just been busy with school projects" You decided to tell her the same story. You might as well be consistent.

"If you say so." She responded to you.

She doesn't believe me

You all arrive at the mini-golf place. It was dark inside with neon colors glowing up the area. You all pay to play 15 holes. You hope Bill won't bother you while you were playing. Of course though you need to be careful for what you wish for. As you were ready to take the first shot Bill decided to have fun.

"Psst, no pressure or anything but you don't want to mess this shot up. That would be embarrassing since this is the easiest hole." He whispered into your ear. You tensed up and just stared at the ball like that was Bill.

You took a breath and shot it. Bill followed it and blew at it so it would go off track and away from the hole. You shot a nasty look to Bill "Are you kidding me? Is this how it's gonna be?"

Your friends laugh, not in a harmful way, just at your reaction. Bill just gives you a playful look. You looked back towards him. This meant game on.
