The Calm

You were all dressed up and ready for the Ball to begin. You wore an ivory colored dress, the bottom had flowers of many colors, the dress had long gossamer sleeves. Your hair was put into a bun, with a floral crown. You makeup was light with a pink eye-shadow. Your shoes were a simple pair of ivory flats.

People were already starting to arrive for the ball. Bill had set up a portal for them to get in, creating a direct walk in to the ballroom.This way the entire world would be unknown of the ball. After what had happened the last time, the portal was a great idea.

Looking out from your window to the world, everything looked calm and peaceful. No traffic on the roads, cloudy skies, no rain, a calm breeze, the world was quiet. You felt at ease. For the first time in a long time you were okay.

Unzi walked into your room after knocking on the door, "You are free to go down to the ballroom when you please miss!" He said with a bright smile on your face. "Will you be down there too?" You ask him. You figured he has never been to a ball before, considering he looked so young. "Oh of course! I will be participating in the event. Serv will be there too!" He jumped up and down at his own excitement. Your heart warmed up, "I guess it would be right of me to assume you may have a crush on her." You got down to his level and met his eyes.

His face turned pink and he started to fidget with his collared shirt. "Well, she is just very fun to be around." You chuckled and ruffled his hair like he was a kid, "Whatever you say. How is she?" He stopped and his eyes lit up, he seemed to love talking about her. "Well, she is upset she isn't with you anymore, she adored you. Even though you guys did not talk much." You gave him a heartfelt smile and patted the top of his head. "I miss her too, but then I would never have met you." You got up and walked out of your room down to the party.

This party was less formal, so there was no introduction for you. So you walked in to the crowded room and spotted some of Bills friends, since you did not have anyone you actually knew here, and Bill was not out on the floor yet, you decided maybe hanging with them would be okay.

You made your way over to Paci-Fire, Keyhole, and 8-Ball. "Hey guys" You greeted them with a smile. "Oh (Y/N)! Long time no see." Paci-Fire said reaching for a hug from you. Not knowing him very well you politely decline the hug by putting up your hand. "Yes I have not seen you guys since the last ball. What have you guys been up to?" You ask them being polite and carrying the conversation. "Oh just carrying things out for Bill." 8-Ball responds. Keyhole seemed to not be paying attention to the conversation. It seemed he was searching for someone. "Oh? Like what?" You follow up 8-Balls statement. Paci-fire seemed to be trying to get 8-balls attention. 8-Ball did not seem to get it, "Well just silly things, like figuring out what is going on in other dimensions, interrogating the humans, covering tails, assassinations, you know the usual things he would want us to do."

Your mind flipped back to the time you walked into Bills office and seeing the blood on the floor with scattered papers. You hummed "You guys wouldn't-" You were about to ask a question but you got rudely interrupted by Keyhole, "Oh (Y/N)! You have got to meet Teeth" he says waving his hand in the air, probably to get his friend over towards them. He put a hand over is mouth and whispered to you, "He is a real chatterbox."

When you looked over to this so call Teeth, you were not surprised at what you saw. It was literally a pair of dentures with two arms and two legs. What more would you have expected.

When Teeth was next to you he reached his hand out for you to shake, "Well isn't it the famous (Y/N)! Bill talks so much about you!" You grabbed his hand to shake and he practically was lifting you off the ground with how forceful his handshake was. "Well," You chuckled awkwardly, "I hope it is all good things." Teeth just shrugged, "For the most part."
